It kinda upset me that they didn’t mention how in the end, Ella takes her necklace back from Hattie, and how Ella’s best friend attends her wedding, as they’re friends again
@@akivawallace9382 Should work tbh. The king told her not to reveal his plan and she couldn't say anything about it despite several people asking her what was wrong.
I guess because it almost seemed like there was nothing to warrant it. Sure her step sisters may not have liked her, but there was nearly no indicator they didn't want Ella to be friends with her. In her eyes, she's insignificant to them. Also, maybe she would have assumed she would have told or hinted to her in some way that she was being forced to (that's what I would have assumed).
To everyone mentioning that Ella could just be told not to obey, that wouldn't work. Remember the guard scene? The second Ella was told to put her hands together, she fell out of the air. One command overwrites the other, so it'd just take someone giving her a new command for the curse to take effect again. Sorry, I don't speak English well so this might have grammar mistakes.
I think the problem is that anything anyone tells her to do is only temporary. So if you say, "Ella stop doing what we say," that is a command, yes, but once that command has been given, the effect of that command ends and terminates immediately. Once Ella has completed the task, it's back to waiting for the next command.
I think it only works if the same person commands her, because it was the same guard that told her to put her hands together, otherwise the command of not telling anybody about the curse would've been removed or she could've told somebody to give her a command to like tell her to not kill the prince or something
This was one of my favorite childhood movies! Since the 'fantasy' genre is slowly coming back into being popular, and Disney is once again starting to make blockbusters, hopefully they can start doing more movies like this again (fun, lighthearted, fantasy princess movies), I've missed them so much
This movie is a classic. I sing Somebody to Love randomly because of it. Great cast and pretty funny. I remember reading the book right after watching the movie as a kid lol
Wait, is that Westley (Cary Elwes) from "The Princess Bride" as the King Regent Edgar? If so, that's apt casting. Anne is enchanting as Ella but Hugh Dancy is also charming as the prince. Nice recap! Thanks!
I remember reading the book. "Ella Enchanted". By Gail Carson Levine. I really loved it. But when this video got recommended to me, i was really surprised and thrilled at the same time. Thank you so much for posting this! Such a nostalgia.
Slannon is more than a friend! That’s chosen family. Dude ties her to a tree and goes to get everybody without details. That’s a great friend/fam that helps you move & hide a body vs a good friend that will help you move & hide
This movie manifested as my life today 20 years later.. I am now Raquelle from Barbie.. my narcissistic mother spoke word curses and put spells on me since I was a child!
The prince is in love and this is the best chance of winning the prince away from her sister because she is in love ❤❤👰she will wed the best prince in the end
The only bit of Information that was Wrong is that Edga died,He didnt because at the End hes in a wheelchair being pushed & kissed on the face by a women 😀
So if she has to do everything she's told couldn't the mother have just told her not to respond to what people tell her to do unless you want to do it ever again and if she did what her mother told her she would be free? .
