It’s almost scarier and more shocking for him that her eyes were still open but almost lifeless when he turned her over. He was almost trying to bring her back to life calling out to her when she clearly wasn’t there to respond to him. Her closing her eyes as she passed out must have almost been a relief since it meant she was still alive when her eyes were open. In the manga we hear her inner monologue as she passes out and she tells Jinshi to stop talking as she fades.

Jinshi really wanted to cry for her! It's just that he need to suppress his feelings and to shows everyone, Maomao is his not weakness to be not their target 😢😭💔
