Quincy took Angelina under his wing. He invited her to perform in London for his 85th bday event at the 02 in London. She was 12. She sung Fly Me to the Moon. The only reason you didnt know about Angelina was her parents. When the whole music industry was fighting to secure her till she was signed by Republic Records at 14 only on the proviso they could not push her out till she finished school. Quincy Jones told her when he invited her to perform for his birthday that she was the best child singer hed seen since Michael. He should know having produced MJs BAD amongst others. Great reaction You made a couple of good points. Regarding “showing off”, many singers, especially kids, that go on the talent shows, sing as loud and as high as they can and do runs just to impress the judges and the audience, but beyond that there’s no emotion or substance. Angelina has so many tools in her toolbox but only uses what’s needed for the song and the storytelling and always sings with emotion and feeling. She has never been one to show off like saying “look at what I can do”. Regarding Michael Jackson, legendary producer Quincy Jones (producer of some of MJ’s albums) invited Angelina at 12 years old to open his 85th birthday celebration in London. Yes, I’m one of the people who believes Angelina is the best popular singer I’ve ever heard. And there are a lot of people who agree with that. Something you said was very perceptive. Angelina is always true to the genre. She has incredible vocal tools, but she doesn’t flaunt them. She inhabits any genre she chooses. You’ve watched two very different songs she arranged. She’s known as the girl with a thousand voices for good reason. MJ might have been comprable when it came to basic musical talent, but he didn't have the voice of Angelina. Perhaps more importantly, MJ was pushed hard and abused by his family, while Angelina truly enjoy music and is pushing herself with her family protecting her and even holding back a little. Hopefully, this will lead to a better outcome for AJ in every way.

As another smug arrogant prick, I too got the AJ bug. If you have any honesty in you you just have to throw your hands up and say "This is the best I've heard", and that is that. It was absolutely ADORABLE (I say that as another guy) watching you 'break' early in the song and realize that this isn't talent, it's music, and the very very good kind.

Angelina is absolutely a genius and a prodigy.

It all seems so improbable. In fact, I would have bet that her tiny little body couldn't sound like a 40 year old black jazz singer, but she does it. She had to to overcome all the physical problems of making that sound at her age. If you watch her Norway's Got Talent performances at 7 years old, you'll notice she had a bunch of missing teeth and worked around that problem and obviously many others. It's a case of her having a vision for something and then thinking/planning/working around all the obstacles in her way. That's not the kind of strategic tenacity I expect from a 7 year old or a 9 year old. That's a very different mind in that little girl. With more time to develop her voice (18 now), she'll be capable of some amazing things.
