What you should do when teaching an animal to walk on a lead is to pull on the lead with a constant steady pressure, then when they take a step release the pressure, that way they figure out that walking with you is what gets rid of the pressure from the lead.

I was going to say this too!! I've raised over a dozen foals. Best way to teach leading is to let them figure it out themselves - and that "release of pressure" absolutely works.

DJ can also loop a rope around her rump and tug on that. Feeling the pressure from behind will help encourage her to move forward then she can be rewarded with a treat. An alternative method that works with mules is to simply tie her to a post and let her figure out that pulling accomplishes nothing.

I think that when you had to help Freedim have Fallon it changed the way she seen you as a human, Daniel. Because she actually trust you both more now than she ever has she you all got her. Thank the Lord you were there when Freedom needed you most!!!! Love you all and all the fur babies

There is nitrogen in the air and when it rains it brings the nitrogen down to the ground to your plants and therefore feeds your plants. That is why the garden does so much better with rain versus hose watering. 😁

You you put pressure on them to walk forward when they make that forward movement even if one step release the pressure so they know that is what you want from them then repeat the process each time. Very good session always end your session with them doing what you were looking for such as stand back spin forward stc.

Funny & true story; When I first got married, my husband, not a Southern, brought home a large sack of tomatoes gifted by a co-worker. He said, "Can you believe the nerve of someone to give us all these green tomatoes?" He couldn't understand my excitement! release pressure on the halter as soon as they start to move forward. they will learn that moving causes you to loosen the pressure.

When you showed your green tomatoes I was so jealous, I love to eat fried green tomatoes. If you haven't ever tried them you really should their amazing. I egg and flour them and fry them in butter or bacon grease.

Last year we were putting in a lawn on part of our property. We had it hydroseeded and I spent so much time watering and babysitting the new grass. Then we got the good rain from the heavens. It was amazing how the seed sprouted and grew! I am keeping our small garden watered because we haven’t had as much rain as other areas. We should have plenty of cantaloupe this fall for ourselves and our kids and grandkids. Green beans and potatoes are up. We rent our farm land out and it is always amazing to watch the crops grow. I always look forward to your videos watching the garden, animals, new property, and everyday life.

Great job with the introduction of halter training with the babies. It's so hard to find halters that fit baby mini's. I think you could do well selling some photo mugs with your logo on one side and a close-up face shot of the donkeys, alpacas, the goats and even Ralph.

Daniel appears to have the right idea about talking to the donkeys while they are walking with the halters. DeeJay is becoming the Donkey Whisperer. I am amazed how close the donkeys want to get close to her. I loved the look Fallon gave DeeJay before the halter was removed. I think the haltering process was a success. Thanks for sharing it. The Do Your Best statement on the summer shirts is wonderful. The t-shirt with the badge design of the replica OSHP is nice. The Creek Life hoodie would be great for the fishers.
