Most people didn't even see Sunfyre. We don't know if they made some type of survey or how they judged or if it was the most popular rumor. That is no objective truth lol I understand supporting Rhaenyra, but not acknowledging the fact that Aegon is the rightful heir by Andal, FirstMen, and Valyrian tradition for being the first born son, shows a huge lack of understanding of this universe and the system that is in place. Support who you want but don't speak of "objective truth" 😂 But I don't blame you, the show writers are trying to make a big deal out of the "prophecy" and his miscommunication with Viserys, when that does NOT matter AT ALL for Aegon's claim.

By law of male-preference primogeniture, Aegon is the rightful king. Had Viserys actually changed the law instead of simply naming Rhaenyra his heir, Rhaenyra would have the strongest claim but he didn't so she doesn't.

Facts

It’s fault of the writers. We have had barely have any screen time with the tb kids to see any character growth or personality (so far). They’ve kind of just been there for rhaenyra to talk too and to serve the plot. Though they seem to finally be getting some development. I felt terrible for rhaena this episode and ive actually started to invest some thought and anticipation into the character and her future. Same with Jace, he looks like he’s about to snap

He was working to disinherit Rhaenyra and told Alicent that Aegon needed to rule and that Rhaenyra would put her children to death. When he met with Rhaenyra on Dragonstone, he stated: “The succession changed the day your father sired a son.” Having bastards was used against Rhaenyra in an attempt to disinherit her but it wasn’t the reason for the war or coup.

@@jacksonperez5615 i think they really wanted to emphasize Rhaenyra doing everything she can to avoid the war. I haven't read the books and I actually enjoyed this scene! It parallels a couple scenes from season one and I really like when Rhaenyra and Alicent are in scenes together. What really didn't make sense to me was how Rhaenyra even snuck in so soon following the Prince's murder. I wonder why those who read the book don't like the scene?

That's not accurate, Otto was planning with the small council to usurp the throne before Alicent came to him with the whole "the King changed his mind" thing. Last episode, they emphasized that when Otto said to Aegon "Is that what you think?" when Aegon told him "My father made me King", pretty much saying that Otto made him king. Alicent getting on board from the misunderstanding was just a nice little bonus for Otto knowing that she would not try to fight back, not that it would have mattered that much anyway
