I came to make this comment D&D made so many errors in terms of the lore - with this AND the fact that Dany’s dragons flew with ease over the wall to the north. That should not have happened
Yeah that was just a Daenerys thing. Because she was born to fulfill the prophecy and help save the world from the Night King. I think the Lord of Light gifted her with that power. Fire is his entire thing after all.
Also the fact Valeryians used to practice all types of magic. I have a theory that those traits could also have passed down to the Targaryens but be very rare since they were technically a low born family there. Danny’s upbringing was unconventional compared to the past Targaryens. So maybe the blood magic sparked a little of that old magic they used to have.
Aegon really went out there to Help Cole Knowing he doesn’t have the experience and his brother doesn’t appreciate it and instead tries to kill him…… damm
@@GLitiatc0 And despite the fact that Sunfire was the smallest dragon in the whole battle. I've also got to say I really enjoy watching Cole fail in every episode.
@@natecloe8535 I enjoy seeing Cole fail too. No one has I fursted me more this season than him. But I must say that when Cole isn’t being a hypocrite and is actually doing his job as a general and proper kings guard, I like him more. The way he really cared for Aegon and used his mistake to rally the troops was showed the tactician and caring side of him
@@AzulApe He didnt ruin shit man, His brother did, they were 2v1 and the idiot betrays his brother? Aemond couldnt even defeat Daemon alone, the greens almost dont have dragons like the blacks and he betrays his brother? haha such an idiootttt. My god people these days dont know how to analyse something as easy as this
Alicent and Aegon are DEFINITELY not like Cersei and Joffrey, all Aegon wants is Alicent’s approval and for her to believe in him, that’s why he asks her what he should do, eventhough he’s the king, he’s a mommy’s boy. Joffrey on the other hand couldn’t care less what Cersei thought
yeah the cannibal is a bit bigger than vermithor, but i assume theyre asking for the ones still viable to tame. sheepstealer is smaller than vermithor tho
@@billytjua-pp7dg I think Sheepstealer isnt impossible as it isnt aggresive towards humans but its still a wild dragon. Vermithor like Vhagar are veterans of war with previous riders. Vhagar went a long time without a rider and she chose back to back riders. I think Vermithor is very much possible to bond with.
Y'all I just noticed Aemond is slowly killing off his childhood bullies ONE BY ONE😂 And his own brother was the ring leader! I think after Aegon mocked him the last episode, Aemond was like yup. Revenge time
I don't think Aemond would have taken such a revenge on Aegon if Aegon hadn't really embarrassed and humiliated him in the brothel. Aemond acknowledged that he regretted killing Luke.
@@fluffylittlebear I am not about to explain why I don't take anything serious about what Dan and Dave did after Season 5. The dudes were rushing to go work on Star Wars. That should be all you need to know.
@@fluffylittlebearIf you watched the entire GoT series you'd know that Daenerys got burned multiple times throughout the show after the hatching of her eggs and no, she is not fireproof. That ONE incident was due to the blood magic and has been show-only confirmed. In the books she is not invincible.
It def was not Aemonds plan to have Aegon come to the battle. That’s why he got pissed and called him an idiot when he saw him fly over head. He def took advantage of the situation and essentially killed his brother and now he’ll be King. But it wasn’t his original plan lol
Actually if you rewatch the scene, Meley’s head was right in front of Aegon right in the line of fire. Aegon was behind Meleys. So Meleys was the target of Aemond. Aemond wasn’t aiming for Aegon, he was just incredibly reckless and didn’t care at all that Aegon was in the way.
@@HackWilson14 I hear what you’re saying but it also appeared like Aemond was on his way to finish the job at the end of the episode. I think he had full intentions of taking Aegon out. It wasn’t premeditated but he took advantage of the situation. Or tried to depending on whether Aegon survived or not
@@HackWilson14 Hhahaha this motherfuckers dont know how to analize shit, Then why Aegon and sunfyre received the direct attack they alone? Melys litteraly let sunfyre go when vaghar threw her fire, in any case Melys protected Aegon with her head and if you see fine the fire reached Aegon perfectly, the only protection were his hands.
Literally her look back at Rhaenys before she was dropped outta the sky was one of the saddest scenes this season 😭😩 she was just doing everything she was told smh
No, the Fire-proof only works for Daenerys. Her fire magic makes her special. The Show did a bad job in focusing on that aspect of the story. Dany being fire-proof or immune should’ve been BIG. It points out that she is the “Prince That Was Promised”. I say “Prince” because it has no gender in High Valyrian
@@fluffylittlebearthe prince that was promised is “Aegon” AKA Jon Snow. The Song of Ice and Fire refers to the dynamic between Jon (Ice) and Daenerys (Fire).
@@yussefabubakarpaglas5538 but TPTWP is supposed to be a reincarnation of Azor Ahai, who is the key figure of the Lord of Light’s religion. Jon quite literally was reborn from death and was chosen by the Lord of Light. That’s why I prefer Jon as TPTWP. I think the similarities between Dany and Jon with respect to the prophecy was intentionally done for readers to believe Dany was the right ruler throughout the series - that way when she eventually turned away from her initial motivations, it would make the revelation even more impactful/surprising
Yeah. They made it really confusing with that line, “fire cannot kill a dragon,” when her brother died. That line is in the book, but it feels like it’s supposed to be symbolic, not literal. The author has said that the entire hatching of the dragons scene was supposed to be a one off miraculous event. And the other scenes from the television show where Dany appears fire proof were invented by the television show creators and not part of the actual story. In contrast, the creators of House of the Dragon seem much more interested in sticking to the author’s rules for this imaginary world.
The girl Rhaenyra sent off with her son and four dragon eggs is Rhaena Targaryen, grand-daughter of Rhaenys & Corlys, daughter of Daemon & Laena, and sister of Baela. Rhaena doesn't have a dragon of her own; Rhaenyra probably hopes that one of the eggs will hatch for her.
Rhaenys was the one that HAD to get the first hit….she was the one counseling Rhaenyra the entire time…HOLDING back the defense. Also this was her guilt being asieged because she didn’t end it before it began. Also She died a queen.
Rhaenyes had too many opportunities to live. She could have killed all the greens at the coronation, she could have agreed to Daemon's request for them to double team Vhagar and they likely would have won, or she could have retreated after her and Vhagar killed Aegon and Sunfyre (Meylees is known as the fastest dragon in the realm). She was bound and determined for this to happen.
Alyn and Adam, the two brothers, are Corlys’s “bastard” sons, that’s why they look similar to Corlys. And the blue dragon we see flying aimlessly in the sky is Seasmoke, Ser Laenor Velaryon’s dragon.
It's kind of funny that yall haven't put together who Allen & his brother are yet 😂 I'm not gonna ruin it for you. It'll be better to see your reaction when it clicks
I’ll bet when the little boy was killed, Aemon started thinking “Now I’m next in line.” His brother’s other child is a girl, so Aemon is now Aegon’s heir. I will miss Rhaenys. She was the nearest thing to a Ned Stark character in HOTD: honorable, loved her family, but also a strategist which Ned never was.
Rhaenys was not going to leave that battlefield unless she saw that Vhagar was still down - she has two grand-daughters to protect, one of whom might have to face Vhagar in the future. I think that's one reason she flew back. Another reason is that Rhaenys is a Targaryen princess, the daughter of a prince (Aemon Targaryen, last rider of Caraxes before Daemon) who was killed during a military campaign in the defense of the realm.
The plan for team Green was well thought out to trick the Black spies... "Vaghar WILL defend kings landing" stated in public. "The King must remain in the capital, his life cannot be risked". Thus the blacks thought sending a dragon would easily defend a small castle. Cole and Aemons' plan worked out, and now they have a staging area away from Kings Landing, right across the bay from Dragonstone.
Well if Meleys wasn't so retarded they could have won. Instead of sneaking up on Vhagar she starts howling when she gets close, so both Aemond and Vhagar notice she's coming. She could have burned Aemond right off Vhagar's back if she could wait like 5 more seconds before screaming like an idiot.
30:03 the second biggest dragon is Vermithor, who is currently riderless and belongs to the Blacks (it’s the big ass dragon we saw in Season 1 when Daemon goes into Dragonstone’s underground chambers with a torch)
I think Aemond wasn't planning to kill Aegon at first. But after seeing him mindlessly rush into battle, he decided Aegon can't be king so he gotta go.
The scary thing about beheading is that your brain stays alive around 7 minutes afterwards. So you might not feel pain (not sure), but you're still alive and aware that your head just got cut off. Must be terrifying to experience.
Omggggg I could’ve went the rest of my life without this information…. That’s so scary…Ughhhh now I’m just thinking about all the people who have been famously beheaded Anne Boleyn, Mary Queen of Scott’s and Lady Margaret Pole 😭😩
This is not true in the case of beheadings. While the brain stays active for anywhere between seconds and minutes, you will lose consciousness pretty much immediately. A lack of blood flow will render any human unconscious after 30 secondsish. But consider how living humans respond to neck trauma like breaking a neck for example. It's an instant loss of consciousness. If you want, we could take turns testing your theory though but only if you go first 😂
Fire burns Targaryens. Daenerys' immunity was a one-time magic trick in the book, bought by the deaths of Khal Drogo and her child, but continued (only for her) in the TV series.
Aemond and Criston were setting that trap to just fk up whoever the team black sent, but when Aegon fked it up I think Aemond was just like fine imma sit here and chill a minute let my dumb ass bro get fked up swoop in and if he gets caught in the crossfire "oopsie"
If Rhaenys went along with Daemon's plan to team up and kill Vhagar, she'd still be alive. Should have went. They could have collapsed the dragon pit right on top of her and neutralized the Greens' greatest weapon.
The show did a great job of getting to the same end result of the battle as the book did, but changing it up on how it got there. The power move by Aemond was a stroke of genius by the show and it makes me wonder what is in store for Daemon in all these visions and feelings of jealousy he's having over Rhaenerya and her crown that aren't touched on in the book
I don't think it was Aemond's plan, cause he was angry at first when he spotted his brother flying into battle, but he did take advantage of it, letting Aegon go ahead when he could have just gone in with Aegon together.
You guys are not paying attention. Rhaenyras been naming Jace her heir since he was little. And she said it when she betrothed him and Baela, she said it when she was having her miscarriage.
it was horrifying to lose Raineys. However, if she had just left vaygar would’ve followed her and then attacked dragon stone, so she had to try to stay, and do as much damage as she could to the dragons that were there that was an ambush their whole intention call Lynn Aemond wants to drag dragons there although I have a feeling they start Rhaenyra will come herself, and instead they got. And don’t forget Corliss is been in countless battles both on land and in his ships so he is still a great advisor for Rhaenyra until Damon comes back.
💯 , they didn’t lay a trap to scare the Blacks. Aemond wouldn’t let Rhaenys retreat that easily. They wanted a dead dragon, whoever it was. They would’ve 100% gone after Rhaenys if she fled.
Rhaenys* It’s easier to remember the spelling if you just think of Rhaenyra’s name, but remove the “-ra” ending and replace it with “-s” instead Well… I guess the spelling won’t matter much anymore, huh? Only the stranger itself cares for such intricacies now, but Rhaenys deserves the honor and respect of a properly spelled name. A soldier through and through
Nah Aemond wouldn't have followed her. He's confident, but I'm sure he doesn't want to fight against 3-4 dragons at the same time. That would be very stupid.
Aemond wouldn’t have followed, Vhagar isn’t fast enough to catch Meleys, and if he followed her to dragonstone it be suicide because the blacks got more than 1 dragon on dragonstone. She just couldn’t leave because she had to defend Rooks Rest. If she just flee’d then Rhanerya would lose support in the war because why support her if she just flee’s when her supporters need help to defend themselves. Plus I think Rhaenys was willing to die anyway, it foreshadows this a lot in previous episodes.
Couple things: Aemonds plan with Criston was only about trapping any Dragonrider come to defend Rooks Rest. Now Aegon showing up was Aegons fault and his own insecurities. It’s why Aemond said idiot. Aemond didn’t plan on Aegon showing up but yes he didn’t care about Aegon surviving, that scenario fell into his lap. Rhaenys and Team Black didn’t expect any dragon. Lastly Aegon and Sunfyre are actually alive but both crippled and decommissioned. Both factions took a blow but Rhaenys was massive. Second most powerful and can match Vhagar because of youth and battle tested prime is Daemons Caraxes. Second largest dragon is Vermithor which you could make a case for. Yes he’s right those eggs sent are the same as Daenerys dragons. Well 3 of them.
The 2nd biggest with a rider was Raynes' dragon. The one Daemon was singing to may be bigger but it doesn't have a rider yet. Someone below said its name ... Vermithor?
Yea the dragons went extinct after the dance😂 Danys where the first dragons in 130 years Rhaenys had the largest dragon on the blacks sides and the Second largest in unclaimed (Verthimor idk how to spell his name) The Bronze Dragon / Furry
It's Vermithor, a.k.a. The Bronze Fury. He was ridden by King Jaehaerys I, throughout the Old King's life. Vermithor's girlfriend Silverwing (ridden by Jaehaerys' sister-wife "Good Queen Alysanne) nests near him in the caves of Dragonstone, so hopefully we'll get a glimpse of her this season or next.
He was the dragon of the old king in episode 1, Jahaerys the conciliator. He is the agreed upon greatest king in Targaryen history, along with Aegon the conqueror.
Rhaenyes had too many opportunities to live. She could have killed all the greens at the coronation, she could have agreed to Daemon's request for them to double team Vhagar and they likely would have won, or she could have retreated after her and Vhagar killed Aegon and Sunfyre. She was bound and determined for this to happen.
yeah i figured if she left aemond would just follow her back , guessing she stayed to injure vhagar as much as possible since rhaenyra doesn’t have an army yet
Second largest dragon is Vermithor, the mount of Jaehaerys I. He hasn't been claimed since the Old Kin'g's death. As for dragon sizes...Vhagar is the 3rd largest dragon to exist. The 2nd was Meraxes, the mount of Queen Rhaenys, the wife of Aegon the Conqueror (along w/hjis sister Visenya). Yet Meraxes was the first dragon to be killed by commoners. Size ain't everything.
Man I can’t wait for Rhaenyra to get on her dragon and put in work on team black next episode!!! This episode was so lit talk about ‘the dance of the dragons’ sheesh 😮💨💯
Before this fight. Greens had 3 adult dragons with riders and Blacks had 5 adult dragons with riders (+ like probably 3-5 more riderless minimum). IMO, this is could be viewed as a win. Greens are down a dragon and Helaena definitely won't be riding into battle now. So effectively they just have Vhagar. Blacks have 4 dragons at least. They can take on Vhagar with pure numbers.
Once again the clear difference between a good mother, Rhaenera whi teaches her son and tries to prepare him to rule versus Allicent who seems to hate her children...I think she resents her role as mother.
He sees young Rhaenyra because it reminds him of being passed over as heir and some of the things she’s say is basically his subconscious making him regret some of the choices he made and how it affected her. Especially the scene last episode when she’s sowing Jaehyras’ head back on
Some Targaryens are fireproof, as we see in GOT. But remember her brother was not (he died from a molten crown of gold). So like prophecy, it’s a rare ability even in the family.
i think alicent is trying to find the song of ice and fire in the books bc rhaenyra mentioned it when they meeting in last episode but she will never found out cause the prophecy was only known by the next heir of the throne and i really like to hear you guys about who lost more in this battle and like mair i can say that definitely it looks like rhaenys dead is the worst thing rhaneyra would have cause yep she was a whole support since the absence of daemon and even corlys in her council but who knows we will see in the next episode… thanks for the reaction i rlly felt ya guys 😿💔 we will miss to rhaenys the queen who should have been pd. about the biggest dragon’s alive: 1) vhagar 2) the cannibal (a wild one who is supposed to be in dragonstone) 3) vermithor (the dragon that daemon sings to in s1 ep10, was the dragon of jaehaerys I, grandfather of rhaenys, the king “who chooses” to viserys, father of rhaenyra, as the next king) 4) sheepstealer (another wild) 5) silverwing (was the dragon of alysanne targaryen, wife of jaehaerys I, and resides on the dragonmont (is a volcano on the island of dragonstone, actually they all in there lol)) except for vhagar none of them have a rider and we cannot forget that vhagar its a descomunal beast, the only one in the present on the series who was born in valyria, so yep, its an old lady of a lot of respect 🫡 no other dragon can be compared to her but the 2nd and 3rd mentioned “are closely to” (not really haha but they’re the biggest after her)
@@gailf1617 Okay, I checked - and it wa snot debunked per say - Condall said "There is room for interpretation". Regardless, one of four eggs will hatch. Red egg matches Drogon's egg, so even if they intent was to be ambigous with three others, this creates big chnage, as the only dragon egg is blue - meaning dragon will blue too, even if in book she was pink.
They have showed danarys dragon eggs last episode. When Raenerya sent them away. Only 1 of the 4 hatch and the others are danarys the show confirmed already.
Arguably the greatest episode of the series so far because every scene mattered. Criston proved himself a great commander and Aemond showed how much better he was than aegon in every way. Rhaenys plan was to win the battle she didnt expect both dragons to be there n the reason y Rhaenys didn’t retreat because the reward was well worth the risk. RIP my favorite live action female Targaryen. Now Rhaenyra has 4 dragons left with only caraxes as the only one left that has been to war.....
I understand everything Sophie is saying. No need to change your words! And people mess up the names on this show because the names are so close ie. Rhaenyra & Rhaenys, Aegon & Aemond. Love these reactions & Sophie you are model gorgeous. ❤
I'm cursed. It doesn't matter who I declare to be my favorite character..... That person will die very soon after I say it. First it was the king and now it's his cousin. Abraham was my favorite character in the walking dead. Not only did they kill him they made everybody forget about him being killed by immediately killing Glenn.
Vermithor, the dragon Daemon was singing to at the end of season 1, is I think the largest dragon after Vhagar, but doesn’t have a rider. The biggest dragon with a rider right now is Daemon’s, Caraxes.
NO, i think you have been told this before ... Daneary's Been Immune to Fire was a Show thing AND George RR Martin confirmed in an Interview that Targaryens ARE NOT fireproof ... But Some can resist Heat Longer than others
Strategy is the way Blacks can win , not dragons. The reason Rhaenys was trapped was because the Blacks didn't fake an attack to engage the Dragons away from the main target. And that is on Rhaenyra.
Targareyens while a bit heat resistant, are not fire immune. Only Daenerys. Jon Snow burned his hand picking up a torch to kill a white walker for example. Many other Targaryens die fiery deaths.
Idk, i get the feeling that Aegon and Sunfyre are still living. You didn't fully see their death and we know how these shows go. We DO know that Rhaenys and Meleys are gone because we saw them go down in a ball of fire. I am pretty sure Aemond did this on purpose and was ready to finish the job with his sword out but Cole started talking so it stopped him. I can't wait for next week. Maybe Daemon will get his head out of his butt and help with the war instead of hallucinating and feeling guilty and taking weird drinks from people he doesn't know.
Y'all Daemon is gonna be sooo pissed. His dragon and Rhaenys' dragon were one of the largest on the Blacks side. AND, Do you remember in episode 1, when Daemon LITERALLY had the same plan to take both his and hers to attack Vhagar; because they could have taken her down 2 on 1. Daemon commanded Rhaenys to go ride with him and attack, but she said, "you aren't the King." He was just being too rash, but it was a solid plan. It makes it so much more frustrating and sad how Rhaenys had to do it alone, but she stood on business.🙏 Went out like a boss taking down 1 down🐉 (although a hit for the greens, I feel so bad for Aegon's beautiful dragon)💔
@jamesw7072 feel like rhaenys didn't want the war to happen either way because she knew how the war would end up and she was right the war ended up with none of thier dragons living and them too until dany in GOT. That's why she wanted none of thier dragons to go war because she's been into war herself and knows that it's nothing but chaos
Y’all Alyn and his brother are Corlys’ bastard children. Rhaenys says he should just bring them into the fold so he would have more heirs. She’s very forgiving Edit: why would they expect Vhagar to leave Kings landing undefended. That wouldn’t make sense for her to be there to take a measley little keep.
Alan and Adam, our Lord Corliss is faster boys and his wife recognizes them because they look just like her husband did when he was younger and she’s letting her husband know she knows now
This was a great episode with so much going on. Daemon is constantly hallucinating seeing those of the past that haunts him as he's trying to gather soldiers from Harrenhal. Alicent still processing with what happened with her reunion with Rhaenyra as well did Viserys choose Aegon as heir to the stone. Is asking the Maester for some tea in which she takes in which appears she's pregnant by the way she touch her stomach. In which I feel Larys Strong knows during their conversation. Aegon is not liking that he's not being respected. As Aemond and Cole makes decisions behind his back. You can see the tension between Aegon and Aemond as Aemond want to get back at Aegon for embarrassing him at the brothel. As well Alicent showing her disappointment in him with Aegon killing the Ratcatchers and removing his father as Hand. In which pushes Aegon to take part in the battlefield. Cole who took down Duskendale, Rosby and Darkyln. Forcing some men of Darkyln to side with the Greens as Cole killed Lord Darkyln. With his hand arriving at Dragonstone in which forces Rhaenys to go into the battle knowing that Rhaenyra is important to the throne as she's expandable. The battle with Dragons so well done. Damn Aemond really tried to take Aegon out along with Rhaenys lol. RIP to Rhaenys who died on the battlefield. I'm looking forward episode 5. But anyway I hope you have a wonderful day. Stay safe, take care and stay amazing Mair and Sophie.
Despite losing Aegon, this was a huge W for team green. Aegon was an idiot anyways and team green becomes so much stronger with Aemond as the king. Losing Rhenease and her dragon is way more detrimental for team black then losing Aegon and his dragon is for team green.
Not sure about that they still do have more dragons then team green and with that the dragons could easily take down vhagar as she's old and slower then them this episode quite literally showed us that vhagar could be taken down easily if they don't get sneaked
@@BEYLIMTED That’s also bc Rhaenys and Melys was one of Rhaenarys most experienced riders and dragon. That helps prove how big of a deal losing them were. Aegon and his dragon were never gonna do anything of importance. Nobody else other then Daemon and his dragon is gonna have that ability so it’s not gonna be as easy as you say to take out Vhager
@chaz5489 I never said it's gonna be the easiest but daemon can quite literally take on vhagar alone cararex literally is more agile and has a long neck making him have a chance to grab vhagar still if she sneaks and also his faster then vhagar
😊 ok Sophie, I stand corrected, I see your strategic mind coming out and seeing all sides to make your decisions. Now you might just win the game of thrones.
I'm just so confused by Rhaenys' motivations, at least in the show. Why sacrifice yourself and your dragon in battle? Especially, after you just took out the King (supposedly to her) and escaped, and after you turned back the first time and barely made it out. Like there was obviously no way she or her dragon would've survived the fight with Vhagar, so why even fight it when you've been given the opportunity to escape? Not to mention the fact that Rhaenys demolished a lot of the battlefield and defeated Aegon and Sunfyre, I would imagine that would be a huge accomplishment for the Blacks if she had lived to fight further battles. Maybe the book explains her thought process more clearly.
