Christine Boskoff wan an American climber and owner of Mountain Madness. She was the only American woman to have reached the summits of six 8000-meters mountains. Her extensive climbing résumé includes the summits of six of the world’s 14 highest peaks: Everest (twice), Lhotse, Cho Oyu (twice), Broad Peak, Gasherbrum II, and Shishapangma. She had also climbed six of the Seven Summits. Moreover, she had an extensive record of unexplored first ascents, primarily in Tibet.
In November 2006, Boskoff and her climbing partner, Charlie Fowler, were climbing deep in a remote mountain valley in China. They were attempting a new route on Genyen, a 6000-meters beautiful sacred peak. Sadly, they were killed by a deadly avalanche. Fowler’s body was found a month and a half later while it took searchers more than seven months to find and retrieve the body of Boskoff.
In this video, Boskoff's life story, her tragic last ascent, and the ensuing search efforts are discussed at length.

It’s wild to me to think that even in 2006, and as professional and thorough as they were otherwise, they would embark on such a journey and climb without even telling anyone where they were going or when they’d be back. So much searching had to be done before they even figured out which mountain and in which country they were in.

Thank you for this interesting video about two famous climbers. I didn’t know anything about fate of Mountain Madness after Bob Fisher’s death, now I know who has bought the firm. It’s a sad story of these two people and their last attempt to summit. It’s great that two beautiful mountains have their names now and remember of this couple full of „mountain madness“.

Hello Sir! I appreciate your effort to tell us this story. I am going to make a suggestion that is not intended to offend you. I think you can improve your content by eliminating the repetition throughout the story. You can start a story with the end by telling us that they died in a remote region of China, or you can tell the story chronologically and with this tragic outcome. I understood everything, but I think it was disjointed to some degree by going back and forth with the details of the story. Such changes may make the video and story more streamlined. Others may, of course, disagree, as everyone has their own preferences. I think the text added at the bottom of the video is a good idea in light of your South Asian accent. Again, I hope you are not offended. I like your content, but I think it can be made better. If you are displeased, you have my apology.

Forget it ! the first thing he needs to do is work on his english pronunciation and make an effort to be understandable, all the rest is secondary. You might understand him but the many hundred million people on youtube who speak english fluently as a second language will not !

It seems odd that they told nobody about this and she even owned Mountain Madness, you'd think she would be more responsible. R.I.P. regardless.

Wow! What a great bit of film, I never knew She was missing so long- that's obviously why one needs to share plans of a climb...

Interesting vid but the title "cursed to death by a sacred mountain" is quite misleading. Click bait titles eventually earn an unenviable reputation. Your vids are worth watching without the need to lure viewers with inaccurate titles.

Soooo how'd she get ''cursed to death"? Broke a taboo? Did something stupid? Climb a forbidden mountain??

Too bad your pronunciation is difficult to understand and recorded with substandard audio makes it very difficult to understand your script.

I can understand him just fine. Get out in the world a bit more, perhaps, to help you learn to get used to different accents.

His accent is very nice, much better than say an American or Australian accent. You have the option to use 0.75X playback speed, or learn to read faster.

Ever heard of captions? Press it and stop complaining. Some people are never satisfied and always find something to critique others about😒

@ericastier1646 I guess I can understand what you're saying in a sense. I'm Jamaican so picking up accents is second nature to me. You may have to watch and listen a couple times to get use to his accent because his videos are definitely top knotch😉😉
