I am on about my 5th dive computer in 30 years. My previous was the petrol2. After a little over 800 dives in about 4 yrs it died. I sent it back for repairs. Spoke on the phone and email as far as my option. Gosh! They really stepped up to the plate and came through. Over and beyond any of my expectations. Customer service was second to none. I cant say enough good things about them. I now have the petrol3. The cats meow. In my mind shearwater computers are built by divers for divers. No, I don't work for them and they didn't pay me to say all this. It's just a great computer manufacturer.
Really enjoying your videos you have taken them up a level from your previous incarnations #AskMark any chance of a video on making a regulated necklace please
you have to see if it goes beyond 500 dives, I've had 2 petrels, I and II reaches 500 it doesn't work anymore, send it to maintenance, they do an upgrade, it comes back, and it doesn't work anymore, unfortunately my TERIC went to the same path and worse, it didn't even last 100 dives, it already broke down, they are excellent until they continue to work, for those who dive once a month maybe it will be good
They did a firmware update a while ago that adds sidemount support with suggested gas switching. I have the teric and I assume those would apply to the petrel as well.
Other than size, aren't the perdix 2 and petrel 3 (standalone) essentially the same computer (functionality-wise)? If so, then isn't the petrel 3 basically a perdix 2 with new screen? Or are you saying you would want the AMOLED screen but the size of the perdix 2?
