"safe in your skin" and "where am i" transition so well into each other, "head in the ceiling fan" is one of my favorite guitar parts, and "murder your memory" is so haunting. Wish I could've found out about them sooner.
@@thecircuitbox i share the same sentiment as @dylanharper354 for this band, and yes i did need therapy and am still currently working through issues. Dont be an blockhead ;)
If say last thing to shed to floral green is their prime. Each progression is natural and never too much that it’s distracting or jarring and it eases you into it from where their last album left off.
I’m surprised it has gotten such a positive view amongst their discography. I remember at the time a lot of us viewed it as a bit of a disappointment and leaning maybe too hard into the shoe gaze side of things whereas they had a perfect balance on Head In The Ceiling fan and Floral Green.
Title fight has been my favorite band since 2014. I'll never forget stumbling across floral green and being fuckin blown away. I saw the thumbnail while listening to citizens "youth" album. They instantly became part of my daily life and that hasn't stopped since. I love title fight.
Saw glitterer play w citizen and was one of the only ones screaming every lyric back at ned. He’s such a genuine dude. Glad he’s doin well w glitterer but can’t help but wish TF would come back
Shed was mixed by Will Yipp...but the producer was Walter from Youth of Today, Gorilla Bisquits, Quicksand and Rival Schools...also, how could you leave out "Like A Ritual" from Floral? It's cool tho. Wonderful work. You have sublime tastes and your channel is excellent.
i have three tattoos from their albums, i love these guys so much. “bad luck never leaves” “you’re spending too much time, digging graves and sharpening your knives” “your voice, in the back of my head, wishing things could be quiet” “you’re cold, like the blood that runs through your veins” “you’re a match, that can’t be lit. spark the flame, burn infinite” “your chrysalis..nighttime wanderer” there has not been and will not be another title fight. thank you and thanks TF 💛
one of my favorite bands of all time. they bridged a gap between older dudes like me that grew up with jawbreaker and lifetime and the kids just getting into punk and hardcore. and they only became more interesting. my personal favorite release is probably spring songs.
for anyone that doesnt know, Bad Seed was a hardcore band with Shane on vocals and Jamie, Figure any title fight fans would enjoy them! They only lasted for like 2 or 3 years i think
this bands progression surpasses so many bands that have come before and after them, each album has their own sound and just keeps getting better and better. Its too bad this band has faded.
Great video but left out one of the best songs from floral green and that's lefty which in my opinion captures the bands talents in music making perfectly
Head on the Ceiling Fan is possibly the first Emogaze song, which combines both elements of emo and shoegaze PD: I just found your channel and I love it
found these guys a couple days after me and my girl broke up like 3 months ago. i’ll say that i’ve never really been they type to say “this song / album helped me through shit” but literally all 4 of their albums really helped me get through some really deep shit lol. everything about the guitars, the vocals, and the drums just really hit and are perfect. some of my personal favorites are; numb, but i still feel it, like a ritual, in between, shed, crescent shaped depression, where am i?, 27, symmetry, memorial field, chlorine, murder your memory, and your pain is mine now. honestly a top 3 band for me. i love these guys, i hope they know that they’ve helped me and most likely so many other people. hope life’s treating em good nowadays.
@@elijahcuyler5667 i hope things have been better for ya & i hope you’re taking care of yourself. it’s music / artists / bands like title fight that let people know that they’re never alone and there’s always someone in the same boat as them. such a powerful sound that’s helped me get through the deepest and darkest thoughts. take care.
They helped me a lot when my older brother died and later with a shitty breakup, I can't thank my friend enough for introducing me to them cause they're seriously my fav band now. They've got a song for whatever I'm feelin. While the memories might come back to me with certain songs and lyrics I just think about where my life is at now. Hope life is treating you good too man.
I know you haven’t posted in months but you should make one of these about Alex g. I feel like he’s one of the best indie artists of the 2010s and I’m surprised no one’s made a video essay style video about him yet
Used to trawl iTunes for new stuff back in the day, and saw a few of their songs and was mildly interested. But then I went to see Touché Amore and Converge play at Chaos in Tejas at Mohawk’s in Austin, I think would have been 2011. They had just released she’d and were touring it. Fell absolutely in love with their music and they were almost instantly my favorite band. Was blessed enough to get to see them several times in Dallas, and I have a signed lithograph insert from the Floral Green record. Went to float the river earlier this summer and let my drunk friend borrow my 10+year old floral green t shirt ( the one with the boys on the front) and my friend promptly lost it to the river 😭. I’m a mega fan and they will always mean so, so much to me.
I discovered Title Fight, Citizen, Turnover and Balance and Composure all at the same time about 4 years ago. Suffice to say I had a great year for music. Losing Title Fight sucked because they were honestly one of the most exciting bands in the past decade. RIP Title Fight, Modern Color and Whatever, Forever are filling the void you left behind
@@youthofyesterdayrecords Cloakroom I knew about because of Matt Talbot, just checked out Knifeplay and Wednesday, can’t get into Wednesday right now don’t know why, Knifeplay from what I’ve heard are good, almost like a cross between Nirvana and Greet Death
🤯 that... would be a good point, although typically bands do 20 year anniversaries for each album. But I'm with you. Any excuse to get these guys to reform & tour again 😅
Honestly my favorite band of all time, ive been listening to them since i was in 4th grade and im 20 now, i essentially grew up listening to them, so when i saw “head in the ceiling” trending on tik tok i was pissed off cuz after all these years it took a damn dancing app to get them into the limelight, now i just feel the need to gatekeep them because ive always been the only person in my city to know about them, im not used to seeing people bump their music, their music was my comfort music and i could relate to so much of their lyrics and now they’re just a trend on tik tok, its annoying tbh
Best band of all time, found them performing in the UK at reading 2011 and been along for the journey ever since! Feel like I saw a reddit thread once where someone had a vague connection to Jamie, same college or something, and apparently the band have played together in private but are just busy living adult lives - fingers crossed for 2023!!
I'm gonna need Title Fight to come back, if I don't get to hear Like A Ritual, Shed, Symmetry, or Head In The Ceiling Fan live before I die I will have no choice but to haunt Ned
This video has some strange audio issues. I can hear a later of crackling or vinyl like sounding hissing idk if thats intentional or not but it made it hard to ignore once you noticed it lol I thought my headphones were busted.
my progression into bands like title fight and citizen was very weird, spooky black - wicca phase springs eternal - citizen - tiger's jaw - title fight
still weird to see cats you used to run into all the time at shows back in the day turn into huge cult classic with young cats who didnt grow up in the same time start listening to their stuff
