Those sheep may be uncomfortable for a couple of minutes while being dipped, but it's highly beneficial, the liquid helps prevent bacterial infections on their skin and wool, and helps prevent fly larva. It's like a toddler getting a booster shot, it stings for a minute and the toddler doesn't understand why it's happening, but the toddler would be in alot more pain if he/she didn't get the booster shot and got polio. Same with the sheep, they're uncomfortable and don't understand what's happening, but they'd be much worse off and would get horrible infections if it didn't happen. It makes total sense to choose a few minutes of wet discomfort over alot more than a few minutes of pain and illness. Correct me if I'm wrong on any of this
@@trinadrew5572 although that may be true it rids their coats of parasites that would be a nuisance regardless . Forming wounds and open sores that I’m sure are unpleasant on their skin .
@@trinadrew5572 …they need to have their wool removed for summer time regardless if we use it or not- they’ll over heat- this dosent hurt the sheep, they freaks em out they’re literally fine-
@@fallenangel_899 their life would be much better and their wool wouldn't need to be taken of if it wasn't for selfish humans who selectively bred them to produce much more wool than they naturally would
I saw a video where one machine basically does this but with a light lid over head that looks like its crushing them...This process looks much more humane than that particular device initially had me believe
I did become worried in this video though about the sheep climbing on one another and actively shoving other sheep fully underwater. I feel like the lid could be meant to prevent that and to ensure they’re completely submerged and therefore cleaned.
@@madievans4222it's mostly rlly just the body wool that needs to be cleaned. In this video, the sheep all just have their eyes and nose sticking out to breathe, they're fine
@@RiceTrees there is one that got shoved underwater by another sheep, but I’m guessing that’s why the do it in spurts. P.S. crazy to think I was 21 when I made that comment, time really does fly
For the ignorant who commented that this is cruel, u have obviously never seen a sheep that has been attacked by fly larvae. The become eaten alive. Dipping prevents this
Less stress full methodologies have been done a lot less stress full to animal.hold on while I fucking water board u. Then just De-lice u with powder over and over like 10 times with ur hands behind your back and trapped in a 5 by 5 room.
william morin this is the best method for animals.Or do you think that holding them underwater with your hands while sheep watches you and gets terrified because she thinks you are going to kill her is less stresfull?
... reason why this country is on its knees to privileged whiny cry babies who think they know everything and who can't take shit and need a safe space when they get called out on their uneducated comments and opinions
Yes, it is easier than the way it used to be done for both sheep and cattle. My grandfather had a concrete vat with a ramp leading into and out of each end. The animals were herded into the vat at one end, pushed under except for their eyes and nose, and then exited the other end. When all the livestock had been dipped, they usually threw their hunting dogs in to get rid of the fleas and ticks on them.
I read that sheep are not as uncomfortable with water as for example cats are. They probably are a little uncomfortable getting dipped, but it's not harming them. Not dipping them risks more harm since they'll be more prone to bacterial infections and fly larva infection, then the poor sheep would be in pain
That's far better than what my grandfather and uncles used to dip their livestock. They used a concrete trough with a ramp on each end. This was filled with a solution to kill the ticks and fleas. Far less humane than this method.
Es para limpiar las obejas, pero no te preocupes el nivel de agua baja y suve rapidamente, esto es para que las obejas no se ahogen, el pelaje se limpia para ser cortarlo y despues convertido en el hilo que se usa para tu ropa.
Having them jump into a trough single file so their head also goes under and then a quick scramble out the other end seems a whole lot less traumatic than this contraption

eles estão lavando e mergulhando-os com antiparasitários e, assim, previnem as larvas de moscas, porque as larvas os comem vivos se não o fizerem, submergindo-as completamente
That's a really nice setup. I would maybe have done it with one ot two less sheep to prevent them from pushing each other under, but they aren't in the water long enough I think for it to be a real issue. It's not easy getting hundreds of sheep dipped in a timely manor so this really is great. :)
plus against scab, flees, iff the sheep gets scap the mite would make her itch and make her scratch constantly in the end she would start to bleed and scabs would appear on her body, iff not trated it is known for some sheep to scratch them selves to death
Thanks for answering my question, didn't know what dipping meant. BTW, I do not see anything cruel about this, only that the animals are getting a little spook.
you would think there would be a much better way to do this? like a shower or something? kinda like what a dog wash machine does? i dunno... something much less stressful on the animals. they're pretty simple animals that don't understand a thing whats happening to them.
