I’m an 2nd year apprentice in eastern canada, I love the work and all the tradesmen I’ve worked with and encountered were all right on ya just gotta have the right attitude and you can get along with anyone
Sheet Metal Worker Local 30 Toronto Canada, it's awesome looking at this vid and seeing that the material and equipment and methods way over there are identical to what we have and do way over here. It is a comfort knowing that my skills that I've honed over 30 years can be used without fail anywhere I deem to be. What a fantastic trade.
@@chriswalker143 Call the Union Hall on Milner and find out when the next apprentice intake is, Covid has kind of thrown a wrench into things but they will let you know.

Once again much love and respect to your life story with a short summary im sure lots more to share. Thanks sir!
Yea if you can't see let's say in 3D or read an isometric drawing its a lot of trouble for some people to grasp. I see you guys got the H/P oval duct. I started in 1979 in Biloxi,Miss Back then you had K,lock ,pocket lock, comp.Angle ,S an drive, slip joint and weld. My grandfather started in 1914 ship yard. Mobil Alabama. At. $1.25 an HR in 5yrs opened his own shop . It was amazing the patterns the man had.

Im an hvac tech but did install before. love building things but not so much fixing things. Im thinking about sheetmetal work, is it mostly ductwork or is there a lot of other things you guys do? And is it overall a smart move to make in my position? Thanks!
I’m a welder. Just started welding back in august and I just turned 20. So I’m new to the trade and trades in general. But I really want to get into a union. I just want to be apart of something where I’m not doing the same thing every day. I work in a production line building straight hopper trailers and man, this place sucks. It has a bad reputation with every welder around this area. Every welder I’ve heard talk about this company has never said anything good and from personally experience I can see why. But this union looks really interesting and u learn whole lot of new things every day. And welding is included to buy not just welding. I like that
Hey Jesus Get your ass out of that Place, Soon as you Can ,go apply at the Local Union 105 there in Glendora !!! Sorry your being treated like Shit !!! This will NOT be accepted in the the Union 105 !!! Good Luck Man !!!
@@rogerhegemier8491 I only lasted 3 months there lol hated that place now I’m at this place called Bluescope Buildings North America. I’m about to hit a year at that company on May 09. Started at $23.43 now I’m at $26.40 and possibly going to get my raise up to $27.51 if I meet all requirements. I haven’t thought about leaving since this place treats us like if it were a union. Shows appreciation and we have so many benefits and pays on the higher end compared to other places in my area
@@youngjesus5992 Ah Jesus Thats great man, im very happy for you, and i wish you the best of luck !!! So long as you have a future and a retirement at the end of your working years !!! Take Care Make every day count , and have a Good Life !!! Sincerely Roger H......
I need to k now what kinda gloves you boys are buying to wear for your cuts with the metal snips. I'm in HVAC and have been going through lots of gloves.
I do industrial and i actually enjoy it a lot, yeah the moneys great but welding and fabricating stainless steel duct or climbing around welding seams I guess everyone has their own opinion of it
