@@timawells Interesting point about the plan for what was Debenhams. I remember a shop in Leeds that opened on a trial basis during lockup, that RENTED out second hand goods. I don't know if it's still a going concern but it was obviously a nod and a wink to social credit scores and "owning nothing"..........
So the money the council say we haven’t got is used to pay for a wasteful expensive bus. £366,000 is a disgrace. Batteries last between 7 and 9 years depending on usage and charging. New battery replacement are what, 100k for a big daft bus? Typical Sheffield council. They have and always will be a joke.

I dont use the market much as its full of cheap crap shops selling tat But i use ih for the butchers and freeze the meet and go weekly for fruit Its cramped and gets packed too easily and its really small especially compared to smaller towns
Just realised how bad it all looks, resembles a city in Eastern Europe or the Soviet Union more than it does a British city, our history and heritage is being wiped away before our eyes.

I'm trying to be optimistic... I think these have potential. But its a question of why aren't people using them? The old FreeBee bus which they introduced in 2007 was quite popular. The free buses in Manchester are quite popular. So why aren't ours? That aside, I enjoyed the tour.
Great vlog, glad the bus goes into pond street, was it platform A, you can get on,to the moor. We used to get the herrings bus from A down to bottom of Moor, how Sheffield has changed since we last went before lockdown,but I go to theatre quite often but not round Sheffield,thanks for this 😊

I appreciate these videos, sad as it is to see. Personally I haven't been into the centre since the CAZ was introduced. I was driving a fairly new euro 5 van at the time so was not paying a tenner to drive in there or spending £30k+ on a euro 6 which are even worse. The maths just didn't add up for me, doing mostly residential gas work and a bit of plumbing. (disregard my username, I do have over 30 year experience, Corgi and Gas Safe reg) The little residential work available inside the centre is best avoided anyway, nowhere to park, sometimes streets away and then dragging tools and equipment up into apartments etc. Just more trouble than it's worth. It actually pushed me to buy an older nice condition 2010 euro 4 as my second van, there's less to go wrong, easier and cheaper to maintain. The euro 5's were troublesome and unreliable and the euro 6's are even worse. It is really annoying having to circumvent the ring road, but I've lived with it for over a year and never paid the toll. I did noticed in your video a general lack of any work vans in the centre. I talk to other sole trader tradesmen and they mostly have euro 5's and seem to be doing the same, some say they add it on plus an admin fee (so £15 or £20) Some have got the euro 6 vans on lease, but I've met only a few that are impressed by them.
Its sad but hopefully it gets the message out. There appears to be zero maintenance of buildings in the town centre, which results in more decay. These flats are going to become slums.
@@timawells I tend to agree, I remember when that West One was built in the early 2000's. Within months it was plagued with problems from poor build quality throughout. Water leaks running thorough the floors and damaging multiple dwellings. Even the paving flags in the main pedestrian thoroughfare were sinking and loose. Some people bought them to rent but they weren't really appealing places to live in reality for the price unless you were a student who liked Vodka Revolution. A few years later the council started to rent them and put homeless people in. So you had people who paid big money to either buy or rent for them to live the high life living alongside homeless people causing trouble day and night, leaving empty booze cans and bottles (and worse) in the corridors and lifts etc. Not sure what happened in the end but that is how I see a lot of this playing out in the future. @@RogueTrader- I think you'll find that the vast majority of students aren't behind the door when it comes to leaving their discarded crap anywhere and everywhere. The Uni should be made to pay for it.
