Sheffield city centre Neepsend destruction of our industry as they gentrify 

Beautiful by the river but, as in Kelham Island, the residents complained about noise from the factories. Surely the idea of a 4 bed house is for a family to live in it; not 4 individuals and share the rent. That's what the studio flats are for.

I worked on cornish and globe works back in the late 90s they were among the first to be upgraded to flats and homes but now it seems to be build everywhere regradless of what is already they ie industry. I'm on the business side they have been there a lor longer plus give a lot of work to local people the council should be backing them . People who move into these areas students middle class the Oxford Cambridge types plus others need to get over there selfish needs thinking they can just move in and start whining about noise etc because the common people are making a living .

The Gardeners Rest had excellent reputation/beers/garden/games/events-not sure now! The House skatepark(Rob) may let you in to film or good background info.Yellow Arches maybe best for independent local music events.Crusty cob is worth the trip!

The Kelham Island news was a pub called Neepsend Tavern later became Crystals men's club at that time the area up to Rutland Road was a red light area. When the redevelopment stated the residents of the new flats complained about ladies using their doorways for business they have moved on now.

it used to have alot of character did neepsend with the stones brewery and i used to clean the windows of the gardeners rest it wad an old fashioned pub but now the council are changing it in to a term not used no more a place for yuppies upmarket and no character plus its anti car policy

I would love you to come to Woodhouse S13 to look at all the bad parking double yellows island parking driving wrong way on 1 way roads pavement parking so disabled and prams forced on road ive emailed parking enforcement twice now no change spoke to police( not seen them much in 12 years) they passed to book saying its the councils job Richardx

Has anybody else realised that all the bus shelters have been removed. Want you to catch a bus but there are no shelters for bad weather. Curiously the council owned tram has shelters

Great video Tim. Awful what has happened down Neepsend. Some of the businesses adopted the 'Kehlam' name just because it was popular.. They were actually in Neepsend as you say. What happened to the Stones brewery was done by the Gov'T...Same as Wards brewery on Ecclesall road. All to turn them into student flats, or Yuppy flats. Brewing was centralised to 2 or 3 BIG companies but the quality of the beer produced stopped completely. A pint of beer today is like drinking malt flavoured water. A lot of people miss a good pint of beer.... which we used to make in Sheffield and we were very good at it. Sad times...The good old days are deffo gone mate.
