My mom’s blood sugar has gotten low before, but never like that. She is a type 2 and she never had low sugar before until she started weight watchers and that’s because the doctor had her take insulin and glipizide at night but because she went on a point system her blood sugar has been really good. Then one night when she first tried the glucose meter patch (idk what it’s called) it started beeping and she check it. It was under 70 and my dad had her go drink some sprite (we didn’t have any juice at the time). Her blood sugar has been so good that she doesn’t need both those medications at night anymore.

Idk why this came up in my suggested videos. lol But I will say about 4:30-4:41, yes, don't talk to someone about a person that's clearly there with you as if they're not there or can't understand you. I'm not diabetic, but I have simple partial seizures. So I'm fully aware of what's going on, I'm just not able to talk during my seizures, and sometimes my words will be scrambled afterwards even though I know what I want to say. Yet a lot of times people talk over me after my episodes as if I clearly have no understanding or I'm not there. During my episodes some people (including medical professionals) would literally hold me down when I was trying to let them know that I wanted to get off the floor. They were ignoring my groans, elevated breathing, etc and held me down instead.

@acspeter7

this is type 1 diabetes, the pancreas insulin production stops working, so she needs to get outer insulin to stay alive, it is not easy to find the balance, sometimes you can have more than enough, and your blood sugar can go down too low, it can follow coma and death. Diabetes 2 is a life style illness, diabetes 1 is autoimmune, the body attacks the pancreas and kills the insulin production of the body. You need insulin for every meal. My son is diabetic, he is low 2-3 times a day, often over night, too. This is an invisible illness, but a type 1 diabetic saves his own life every day. 😢
@elizabethpeters4805
@elizabethpeters4805 3 месяца назад
It seemed to me that keeping the blood sugar balanced was more challenging for a Type 1 diabetic as the insulin dosage, diet, and activity level need to be kept in constant balance. And, if the diabetic has had insomnia, allergies, a cold, etc., even the best maintained balance gets out of whack. It's a daily battle.
