Young Sheldon Season 01 Episode 19.
Young Sheldon is an American comedy television series on CBS created by Chuck Lorre and Steven Molaro. The series is a spin-off prequel to The Big Bang Theory and begins with the character Sheldon Cooper at the age of nine, living with his family in East Texas and going to high school. Iain Armitage stars as young Sheldon, alongside Zoe Perry, Lance Barber, Montana Jordan, Raegan Revord, and Annie Potts. Jim Parsons, who portrays the adult Sheldon Cooper on The Big Bang Theory, narrates the series and serves as an executive producer.

@@edwardvalentino3835 I'm not sure that we have gotten to the part where George and Mary split up and George has a girlfriend. That happens when Sheldon is older. I'm assuming, of course, that this show will be faithful to the narrative that Sheldon has spoken of in TBBT. If they do it's gonna be a bumpy ride. And then George dies when Sheldon is 14 .

Sheldon always talk down on ppl. I don't understand how Amy fell in love with him. He even made fun of her alot. I like it when they explain his childhood days, so we can understand why he is the way he is.

That's actually one of my favourite Young Sheldon moments. I know the easy joke is that her family don't like change/a quick laugh at her attempts to 'mix it up' but I found it so cute that they wanted her to say it the way she always said it, and that's a powerful little family moment to me.

@@aurorahagos6029 That has not happened yet in the "Young Shelden" show. It is established history from "The Big Bang Theory". But we are getting close to the event. Purely for financial reasons, it may happen at the end of the season. But they might save it for a mid season episode next season.

I've been to college. Classes like that are for 100 level classes, First semester of freshman year. Classes that teach things like that, there are only about 3 or 4 students in those classes and they are probably Ph.D students who have probably already have published works.

The card reader and battery operated keypad lock ruined this for me. Also doors back then had traditional cross bar style exit devices. All the doors and hardware in the college scene are brand new lol

Not all the time but the bickering and unhappiness seem to be ramping up slowly. That said, it does look like older Sheldon exaggerated a fair bit at times.

He isn't a full-on alcoholic. In fact, he doesn't drink any more than Meemaw. Actually, the only two characters we've seen drunk on the show are Meemaw and Mary. We've never seen George drunk.

The portrayal of the family is interesting. In BBT, the family is portrayed in stereotypes: father drank and played around; mom very homebound and Bible- literal; Meemaw supportive but clueless about grandson; siblings mostly distant. So, either the series is whitewashing the family to avoid negative stereotypes of Southerners (see how it works?) or we are experiencing the Back to the Future conundrum: Were the family members at the beginning of the film real or were colored by Marty's perception and had always been cool?

As of the end of season 6, in 2023, the father hasn't cheated on his wife and he is not the violent drunk Sheldon portrays him as in TBBT, In fact, he doesn't drink any more than Meemaw who is shown drinking all day, where George doesn't until after he gets home from work.

something just occurred to me. How the writers brought the 2000s into the late 1980s. To the best of my memory, I don't remember putting children in the back seat when there was only one adult in the car. Sheldon should be in the front seat with MeMaw.

Kindergarten in 1970 dissapointed me. I thought first day we would begin to learn reading and writing. Teacher asked me “Who do you think you are?!? We do that next year in the first grade.” 12 months later 1st day of 1st grade im ready to get to business. Nope, they had us hold hands in a revolving circle singing the farmer in the dell. I knew immediately the district had LOW standards.
