Plankton can do Alice, Plankton can do Tool, Plankton can do Rage. He's already made God Tier in the AI cover category and I will fucking fight you on that.
I once met Plankton in summer of 2000, he was looking really skinny and seemed to be in very poor health. Still, when I walked up to him and asked him for an autograph he hugged me and seemed genuinely happy to see me. One of the sweetest most gentle people on the planet.
sand, his most successful album, always showed his true addictions to chum that eventually took once another legend . a true pioneer, swim strong legend 🙏🏻🕊
I actually don't like pretty much any of the originals save for Soad, Audioslave(because of Chris) and Pumpkins, kinda meh on Tool as well. But if you live long enough you come to realize that some songs just suck ass because of the vocalist. Even mainstream trash songs like Master of Puppets which is one of the most commercially manufactured songs of the 80's sounds good when Plankton sings it instead.
@@victorkreig6089face it dude you simply have bad taste in music. Master of Puppets wasn’t “commercial” in the 80’s. Maybe it is now cause of the overexposure but not back then. It was the defining metal song back then. Metallica didn’t become commercial until the Black album.
@@DarkestVoid nah I just don't like mediocre music which you very clearly do The fact that you call it the defining metal song of the 80's shows just how pathetically small your knowledge of the genre is
For a heartless, soulless program, it's putting an awful lot of both into that chorus holy shit. JAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYEUHEUHEUHSUS CHRIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIST!
@@MisfitMods These AI covers are really revealing the fundamental importance of the underlying emotion, and just how much of a discrete layer it is, separate from the technicals of singing.
How it starts: Drunk dude starts doing karaoke. The verse: Okay cover Chorus: HITS IT WITH THE INTENSITY OF A MAN GIVING INTO SOUL RENDING EXISTENTIAL DESPAIR AFTER WATCHING HIS WHOLE FAMILY BEING SAVAGELY TORTURED AND BUTCHERED BEFORE HIS VERY EYES!
Plankton on vocals. Krabs as base guitar and back up vocals. Patrick as drums and spongebob as the lead guitarist. He's only one I can see doing that solo. It's beautiful
Sheldon's fucking scream is just so gnarly and Krabs doing Jerry's parts is weirdly dissonant, but beautiful. Since both voices are really gritty it just contrast the smoothness of the original harmonies.
My dad once witnessed Plankton preform this live in the summer or 1999 along side Alice and chains themselves, he may of been in a small fish bowl but Jesus that voice is more powerful than a god.
Normally I'd agree on that notion, but tbh, I think the censored version kinda fits a bit better. I can see and hear this in a scene if this was done in a SpongeBob movie (like that Twisted Sister parody from the first one).
Hearing Plankton's AI scream his little head off is so good. It sounds as if Krabs is squeezing the life out of Plankton whenever he hits the chorus. Very fitting for Plankton to duet with Mr.Krabs.
Please for the love of god, someone make Doug Lawrence aware of this, he'd get the biggest kick out of it 😂 Krabs doing Jerry's parts is so very fitting
It is UNREAL how amazing Planktons overlaid voice sounds here, and it’s honestly kind of a testament to how unreal Laynes original performance was on this track for another voice to be literally manipulated to hit every high note, the tone and pitch, perfectly.
Douglas Lawrence NEEDS to try doing music like holy shit. i know its just basically a voice changer for the original vocals basically but his voice is just PERFECT for alt metal
This is almost EXACTLY how I imagined Plankton singing my favorite AIC song. Every time in the chorus with Layne's screaming parts are godly along with Mr. Krabs with Jerry's backup vocals. AI can do good, AI can do bad, but AI is good at making our favorite characters sing our favorite songs that we would imagine.
Now that I've fallen down this rabbithole, I think I can safely say that Plankton's godly vocals make him the best person in the SpongeBob cast to sing Rock and Metal songs. He can sing Tool, Disturbed, Linkin Park, Dragonforce, and so many others.
These keep getting more and more impressive. It seems like voices with a lot of emotion and texture work better as sources and targets too. The intensity of the chorus is especially cool.
Say what you will about AI. Say that it is the soulless mimicking of human creations. This is the best cover of “Man in the Box” that I’ve ever heard. I think it’s the combination of the original audio and the raspiness of Plankton’s AI generated voice during the chorus that makes this ungodly powerful. I have been listening to this on repeat during my drive into work. During the second chorus, I actually started laughing out loud to myself, because of how good it was. If for something to be considered art, it has to move you in some way, this has succeeded.
It's crazy how I never really realized how perfect planktons voice is for the heavy rock/metal stuff. Goddamn bro this shit unironically goes hard as fuck!
1:22 Jesus Christ indeed...literally lol The chorus is so intense omg. After having listened to probably around 50 Spongebob AI covers, I have come to the conclusion that Planktons voice fits metal & rock covers the best. Im guessing since his voice actor is generally batshit insane & has screamed like a lunatic in the actual show & even talks very aggressively, this might be the reason why his voice works perfectly for these kinds of vocals. It's been not even a month since I've discovered Spongebob AI covers & Im already obsessed with them. lol
The fact that all these AI voices are only a year or so old and it’s already this good. I can’t imagine what it’s going to be like in five years. We will never know the difference.
Everyone here is so surprised that this is fire, and the tech is super impressive, but I always knew that Plankton would make a great metal voice. I knew ever since I heard him scream in the sponge movie when he was being scraped off of a shoe.
