I remember in high school we were talking about Carl Sagan and I said I liked his TV show the teacher said he wasn’t surprised because Carl Sagan was also a pot head after that most of the class stared watching the Cosmos
Important note, Mary only tries to spend time with Missy when her favorite Sheldon isn't around. Missy even at this young age is so used to the neglect that she doesn't even recognize her mom making an insincere attempt at bonding. I say insincere bc it's clear she doesn't actually want to spend time with Missy, she's just extremely lonely and is desperate.
Can people stop making it seem like Missy only had Mary ? George cared about Missy, more than Sheldon. I am think it is kinda fair. Not to mention, she makes friends easily, while Sheldon struggles with it. Missy always downplays her mom, while Sheldon doesn't. Quite obvious why Mary likes Sheldon more.
@sweetys837 Missy downplayed her mom because her mom gave her attention when Sheldon wasn't needing her, or he wasn't home, so she wasn't used to regularly getting good attention from her mom . So it was awkward for her yo some degree.
@@2enjoy1 This wasn't the first time. Heck, even George was fed up with Mary after a few seasons. But, Sheldon remained the same. So, the favouritism is understandable. But, still, Mary never neglected Missy. She just prioritised Sheldon more, because she felt more attached to Sheldon. For instance, when Mary asked everyone , who all wanted to go to church, everyone turned it down, while saying lame excuses. But, Sheldon, although a non believer jumped in,and said that he will accompany her. Although Sheldon never believed in God, he always helped Mary keep her faith in God. Unlike the rest of the family, who don't exactly believe either. But, they all keep pretending, just to please Mary. Considering all of this, I would say that there are many instances, although very small, where Sheldon and Mary understand eachother, in their own way. As far as I have seen, Missy was treated quite well by everyone, especially George and Georgie.
@sweetys837 We are going to have to agree to disagree. Of course, Sheldon went to church with his mom. She was his #1 fan & ally. And yes, Missy received attention from Meemaw, her dad & Georgie. But nothing can replace the constant affection & attention from your mom. Mary balanttly showed that Sheldon was her favorite... as a parent, that is an emotional evil to do. Everyone in her household got less than from Mary because of her sick attachment to Sheldon. When Mary & her husband were discussing Sheldon going to college, he said, "Well, you knew this time would come . What did you think would happen? Mary said my first thought was I would pack up & go with Sheldon. George said I would laugh but I know you're serious. Mary was willing to leave her other two kids & husband to be with Sheldon. That should tell u everything about her & Sheldon's twisted relationship.
So what? Parents have favourites, deal with it. I am different though: I want any kid of mine to go bother their mother so I can relax or sort out my finances
For the series finale of young Sheldon which I hope is years away, this all should be a flashback of a long story he's telling Leonard and Penny and the rest of the Gang who all show up to do cameos.
I was thinking he's recording it or something for his future child OR Leonard and Penny's, and the last scene is Leonard calling for Sheldon cause Penny's in labour, and Sheldon pausing, then going, "Great, now I have to start all over."
Living in the 80's, this would seem so normal, having a child visit an adult overnight. In 2022 is is highly suspect, Michael Jackson & Priests and all.
The Big Brother program largely ruined that, as well as Michael Jackson. I know lots of people who’s teachers would let students spend the night for movie nights and pizza parties etc. The Big Brother program had over night visits with boys and adult men or “big brothers” (there was also a Big Sisters program). Anyways, there was a scandal about a ton of abuse by these adults, it was rampant. After that overnight teacher visits also vanished.
Well, it was understandable for people to have been concerned in Michael Jackson’s case, but he was proven to have been innocent and to have even been protecting the children who spent time with him.
“after dinner, wanna toast marshmallows on the Bunsen burner?” “Good Gosh yes” i was instantly slapped back to childhood doing that on the stove at my grandmother’s house was adopted as a kid and my mom’s ma was so loving she was a special one, full of grace R.I.P Emma Hazel Brown Davis ps was not expecting this show to click with me but imma have to watch the full show instead of just clips now
Usually, moms emotionally need their children a lot (because their children are the people they love the most if they are good moms), so it's normal for her to need him to some degree.
thats because sheldon only likes things that he sees. He cant adapt to a big change, if he met someonebody that wasnt like him, then he would have a hard time
Mary uses missy and others as objects for not feeling Sheldon's absence, just when she has a need she realized missy is existed in home. Such a inhumane behavior
Improbable. Seeing as events in the show happen without Sheldon's knowledge. He might be telling the story for sure (hence the narriration) but we are seeing it from a real perspective, not Sheldon's
as a neurodivergent kid i was the exact same. i did not cry at all when my mom left me at daycare or preschool bc my adhd made it to where i forgot she existed when she wasn’t in front of me or i wasn’t reminded of her
She’s just over protecting she knows that her kids a little different then everyone and knowing that she’s the reason the family is messed up hurts her
@@jskjsk6942 what is wrong with you? All I wanted to know is why they like it... in there own words. How in any dimension does that make me a Clown? edit: People are allowed to ask questions too ya'know.
Wow I never thought I’d learn something from young Sheldon just now, I have no idea why I never thought of using a Bunsen burner for toasting marshmallows and for a portable fire source.
😂the people in here in this comment box always complain about marry.I mean what wrong.she is really like a mother.she also care about messy but you people have to put the equality thing in everything it can't be 50/49.😂.sheldon has a problem of socialism that's why marry always has to care for him
It's an american thing. Here in my south american country we sleep at 23.00 or 00.00 pm and get ready for school the next day at 8 am which lasts until like 1 pm . But apparently americans start schol at 7 and stay like 10 hours there so they have to sleep and dine at 7 when the day is only halfway over. It's insane.
You have, moved in with her for two years, Papa. Except that you dont sleep over nights at hers. But you're always there everyday, except Sunday. For 2-7 hours every time.
You dont see how Mary spoke to her ONLY AFTER Sheldon wasn't there for her to bond with? Missy got used to the separation and that's why she didn't talk to Mary.
