EPIC shelling on Navarre Beach: • EPIC SHELLING: A Once ...
Shelling in Florida varies from community to community and season to season; and that's especially noticeable on the Emerald Coast. Navarre Beach, like most beaches, experiences hit or miss shelling, however, when Navarre Beach is a hit, it can be on fire. While today was not "on fire" we do have some pretty good shelling considering it's the dog days of summer where the Gulf is calm and well, the shells simply aren't rolling up onto the beach.
During the dog days of summer, determined shellers have to use a keen eye to spot shells that others miss and sometimes shellers have to walk a long ways to find a couple handfuls of shells. So grab a cool drink because when you shell Florida in August expect heat and humidity.
