Best idea that I've seen to date. Really like how you added the metal studs on the top section.

That is my hope. I will have to come up with a clever door opening once the zipper panels decide to fail.

Had a neighbour who tried this in town, bylaw officer forced them to remove the metal cladding. A temporary shelter is permitted nearly to the street but adding metal makes it a "permanent" structure and therefore must be set back from the road (e.g., 40 ft) like any garage. If you are living in a town, check the bylaws first.
@HamiltonServices530
@HamiltonServices530 Год назад
That is good information. Thank you. I checked our county building code and found the following: In our county you can build a structure that is 100 square feet or less without any permit from the county as long as no one lives in the structure or has electrical wiring inside. The minimum setback is 30 feet from the center of the roadway to the front of the structure and 5 feet on the remaining sides.

Fair enough in any event you did a gret job i double ribbed mine for additional strength plus an inner layered tarp and then the factory tarp for the finish
@HamiltonServices530
@HamiltonServices530 8 месяцев назад
I would be interested to see how that came out. Sounds like that would protect the factory tarp from sagging and ripping.
@georgemullin7772
@georgemullin7772 8 месяцев назад
@@HamiltonServices530 it really did make a difference with 2 layers of tarp and double ribs for additional strength, I found the factory ribs were to far apart simply put not enough of them so I found one no more in use same size and doubled up on everything huge difference.

That is interesting how a tarp from Harbor Freight could outlast the Shelterlogic tent material. Good to know for folks who are unable to put metal on the roof. Thanks for dropping a comment.

@@HamiltonServices530 i am curuious which tarp the shelter logics come with initially i know most of them have two options available
@HamiltonServices530
@HamiltonServices530 Год назад
@@monkeyoperator1360 My UTV garage in a box shelter came with the standard cover. It only has a one year warranty which most shelters have unless you order custom shelters directly from the shelter logic website. There are options for a 14oz. cover which has a 10 year prorated warranty or a 21.5oz. cover which has a 15 year prorated warranty. When I chose the same dimensions as my shelter using the 21.5oz. cover, the price jumped from $429 to $1099. Wish I knew someone that had the heavier cover to get their opinion on the more sturdy cover.
