The school board in Shenandoah County, Virginia, early Friday approved a proposal that will restore the names of Confederate military leaders to two public schools.

What are you talking about?! You can't go much more north and stay in Virginia. If you go one county north from Shenandoah you're in West Virginia. Go another county north and you end up in Maryland or PA.

I've lived here 22 years. "Northern Virginia" has always referred to the DC metro area, Loudoun, fairfax, alexandria, Arlington. Not far west past Front Royal, off I-81 bordering West Virginia, thats ludicrous. Also, West VA is NOT one county north of Shenandoah, doublecheck your map.

It was an excuse to realize that it could happen in VA, as well, and Virginians needed to address the underlying causes. Neither MN nor VA operate in a vacuum. Step outside your little valley and see the wider world.
