Currently us Shenmue fans are scrambling to try and make this 10 mill goal a reality. Would it be possible for you to make a video regarding why people should continue supporting Shenmue even though Sony is funding it (btw not funding most it, most of the dev fund will be from kickstarter) and even though its passed its base funding amount?

Johnny I feel the same way you do. I was looking up Games on GOG that the community there was voting on to include on the site. I saw Shenmue 3 was listed. I did an internet search and found the Kickstarter Campaign. I've already pledged. I gave up on Shenmue, but I'm glad that someone never gave up on the rest of the story to happen. It's very close to the goal of being funded. So hopefully all those great games we all wanted will appear as Kickstarter campaigns, get funded, and then be out for gamers and nongamers to buy. Since you are a huge Shenmue fan, I'm very happy your dream will come true. I'm happy for all Shenmue fans and the curious players that have not yet tried out Shenmue and Shenmue 2. I'm going to get out my Dreamcast and finish playing through Shenmue in the next few weeks. Then I'll try to complete Shuemue 2 on Xbox, since it looks like there is another chapter to enjoy.

Sony wheeled Suzuki out to beg for money. Damn shame they are not funding it themselves. $2,000,000 budget means this is going to be an "indie" level game. Come on Sony please finance this game with a healthy budget. Give the game a proper chance.
***** I'm not so sure. The kickstarter could just be an option they gave to him to say "show me that you have an audience for this" and once they reach that goal they'll receive help. Then again it is coming to PC so maybe it's not the case.
***** People have been begging for this game on every corner of the internet for the last 10+ years. Sony knows there's a demand and that it will sell. I don't blame them for wanting to get a little upfront money out of a Kickstarter, but they certainly know the demand is there and that it will sell.
I reacted the same exact way. It was real emotional especially being someone who heavily supported dreamcast and imported shenmue 2 the second the euro version came out. It really is the blade runner of video games. Dreams do come true.

I never play shenmue but watch my brother play 1 and 2 when i was a kid and watched a playthorugh of the game on youtube so many times. I listened to the music when studying or doing other tasks in my room. I'm backing this. Big shout of to the fans for keeping this game alive after 14 years.

I have NEVER played Shenmue, but I donated to the kickstarter ($29) and I'm super excited to play it. I'm happy that your dream has come true. My dream was an FFVII remake! This has been a good e3 for gamers. I'm happy to see this as much as you HappyConsoleGamer I remember when I played shenmue on the original dreamcast and how it open the doors for alot of the type of these games now. Sony and Microsoft had a good show. Gamers play games and fanboy's make me insane.

As a Sega fanboy who worshipped everything that Yu Suzuki has ever made, dating back to my childhood in the 80s, I'm still in shock. I loved Shenmue with a passion and thought it was way ahead of its time. After Sega killing the Dreamcast (the best goddamned console ever made), I've lost all hope. In less than 24 hours, it's already fully funded. It's a little weird to see it on the PlayStation 4, since Sony helped kill the Dreamcast and Saturn, but at this point I'd play it on a toaster.

I wouldn't feel this way over any other game. The FFVII remake had me shocked, excited, and pumped but the Shenmue III announcement was pure emotion. Let's finish this journey my fellow Shenmue fans!
I really like this Kickstarter trend. Give these seasoned developers a voice for their fans again! Send a message to the parent companies, fans want the classics! Your "old" game designers are your most valuable asset.
I need this to happen so much. I thought I was floored when they announced Fallout 4, but this hits me deep in my heart. Words cannot express how much I love Shenmue. How much do they need? I'll pay whatever I can afford.
I always keep hearing good stuff about the Shenmue franchise. I really hope Shenmue 3 launches, I felt the same way when they announced Megaman Legends 3, I was so freaking happy. Thankfully this being a kickstarter it has a bigger chance of launching.
I just made my first pledge ever to a kickstarter project with Shenmue 3. I want this to happen. I only pledged $29 bucks though. I am disappointed there isn't going to a physical release for the PS4 though. Digital is better than nothing though. Great video, HappyConsoleGamer. I am excited as you are. I hope this project happens, which I think it will.
I'm now convinced we do live in the Matrix and Shenmue 3 kickstarter is a project by the world government to see how we react to such an enticing event.
