Why an Epic games store exclusive? I'm a backer for the project, and was going to buy additional copies, but i can't with the Epic game store. I don't own a PS4, would prefer an Xbox copy, but why do i need to give into Epics ruthless tactics just to play Shenmue 3. Rough call.
@@gabrielmontreuil ya what?!.…. I only ever got sent one survey but it was about if in game paid exclusives should stay as paid exclusives or be available to all. ... That was near the beginning and since then have had nothing and when messaging on Kickstarter and Twitter I got no response. 😠

For all those who are still complaining about facial animations, need to remind themselves that it's a Kickstarter project. I am so happy for Shenmue 3 20 years wait is over!!!
Plus every trailer we have gotten has had in the bottom corner- Work in progress - game not final. Most people never take that into consideration. MGS 4 looked way different in the trailers than the final project.
Yeah, seems the bad news for this game are not stopping at the moment. First the delay to November, which is insane, then yet another trailer with zero gameplay and the epic store logo in the end. I hope it will only be a timed exclusivity. The only silver line on the horizon I can see right now is the fact this trailer itself looks like a fantastic game.
@Rel Soul That didn't stop any of the other crowdfunded titles from saying people would get their Steam keys 12 months later when the exclusivity ends. Or canning Linux versions. At this point that promise is null and void, and even physical copies will have their Steam keys replaced with Epic.
@@PintsofGuinness I know Ys net promised the bakers to get it on Steam, kinda a dick move going Epic but I think they will get the game anyway! Good I choose to go PS4 even before I had the console!
It's confirmed as an exclusive, expect the Steam storepage to get a hefty 12+ month delay slapped on, like all the other Epic exclusives. Use Steam for marketing and during crowdfunding, then take the Epic cash.
RuiDX it’s an epic store exclusive. It says at the top of the video. They’re using the steam store to promote it but you can’t purchase from there for the foreseeable future
MikedieONE probably but I don’t want to use epic due to security concerns and that means I either have to buy a PS4 for one game or wait a year to play it which is crap
The same as happened with Phoenix Point and Outer Wilds. They got their cash infusion, they don't care anymore. Steam? Linux? Broken promises? Not one dev/publisher so far has done more than give refunds if pressured, least of all stuck to their promises.
I tried getting a refund on the PS4 version about last year after kind of losing interest (and needing the money), but they said Refunds were no longer available
How is this a good business decision adding this to Epic Store? Short term gains for long term taint, Shenmue Fans on PC will remember this and Backers who wanted Steam version (which was promised) will remember to. This is a game that we need more people to try to experience and understand just how different it is, but now many will not try it because its taking choice away from the customer. I care less for myself having to be forced to play this on Epic Store and more for the future of the Shenmue series.
Old style models and animation new style lighting and resolution but the gameplay demo found elsewhere shows us it’s very Shenmue in gameplay love it or hate it, it is true to the classics.
Trailer was nice, but that's terrible idea with being exclusive for Epic Games Store. It won't help this game sell well on a PC. :< Anyway, I'm waiting for a PS4 version! The waiting soon will be over~
SO glad I did not back this game. They basically lied to every person hoping to play this on PC by forcing them to an inferior platform that has security issues and such lackluster features, and are not giving any refunds - even YsNet is saying this! This is how kickstarters die a slow death.

For years I been waiting for this game. Kinda assholish to have me so wrapped up in this super awesome game and then cliffhanger.. I must complete this story this is the one that got away and left a thorn in my side . I cannot wait long enough!!!!
i remember hearing the creator say that shenmue 3 will not be the last game and the ending will not end the story we may be getting another cliffhanger... i just hope the game doesn't tank and they end up not making another game and we're back at the same spot lol
@@AnimationAirlines Look, Shenmue 2 in mad angels area had bad angle fights, ruined it in a huge way. Then in the building, same horrible angles. Neither 1 nor 2 were perfect. Point is, this is part 3 of the only martial arts RPG done right. There is no other. All these guys hating it can go to hell as far as I'm concerned. I was heavy into Shorin Ryu Karate in 2000, I still love martial arts. I can't wait for it. Glitches, bugs, OK there are patches they can release now a days.
I don't care how buggy it is. The story isn't going to be buggy :) the trailer showed it is going to be very much like the first 2 story wise. I'm sure on pc it will get plenty of fan attention and fixes if the devs don't.

I love how people are complaining about silly things, I'm just glad I can finally continue with one of my favourite games. For me even if they released it on a fricken game boy advanced I'd play it, good graphics or not as long as the saga continues I'm sweet.
I'm not one, but you think back in the day Pokemon fans played Pokemon games for the graphics or the experience? Graphics has developed way too fast and people expect it in every title and a few aaa titles have the graphics and the game itself suffers. Like seriously what do you want from Shenmue? I don't care if it's released like this as long as the story is amazing
Horrible decision on making the PC version an Epic Games store exclusive, I'm a backer and expected this to be on Steam. At this point, I may as well shove the PC physical copy right up my ass.
Does anyone know if Epic Game Store accepts game keys? Cause I kickstarted this game and I'm suspecting that I'm not likely to get a key or anything for the game despite the funding of the game was promised that I'd get a copy of the game. Kinda worried about that now with the whole Epic Store issue.
Does Yu Suzuki not want a Shenmue 4? Why the hell would you make Epic Games Store exclusivity? Do you not understand that steam is a bigger platform and this game is a niche game. You need a wide audience to make this thing succeed. I almost regret spending $600 on this game if this is the piss poor decision making that happens behind the scenes. If this game bombs and the game is abandoned again, I am done with anything else you make or ever invest in because you shitheads make worse decisions than Apple's failed keyboard engineers.
I know right? They rereleased 1&2 on Xbox one but not 3? Makes no sense. I've also waited years for this. Certainly not buying a PlayStation 4 or a gaming pc just to play it. Sucks!
I'll try to explain, so you know it. in 2001 Bill Gates bought the rights to Shenmue 2 in the U.S. Most already played DC British copies by the time it came out for $box. It had 0 chance of selling. Since Bill Gates ONLY made $box to grab some cash the consoles were producing, anything that failed to sell well was done for. Add to it $box failed in Japan. Shenmue is a JAPANESE game first and foremost. If it got re released both 1&2 on PS2, you'd have had Shenmue 12, you'd have had the deleted Ship to Hong Kong episode DLC. You may like $box, I understand it. Know that it killed Shenmue in 2002. Remakes are owned by this new SEGA, it makes nothing, it didn't even do the remakes. Yu Suzuki doesn't work for them. He had no say in 1&2 for any platform. He'd improve them, not just rehash them I hope.
not enough money, compare the budget for the first game with this one and its not even close lol, but i dont really care about the graphics tbh as long as the story is good and the fighting/exploration is fun im ok with it.
@@runningbear6391 Show me one PS3 open world game with over 500 characters that had better "facial animations". even the Yakuza series with the newest Dragon engine uses "puppet" face animations for NPCs. and they are on a much higher budget. Games like dark souls/bloodborne doesnt use face animations at all! Games like Life is strange 1 are on a similar budget as shenmue 3. and the faces look kinda shitty and cheap too. and again.. LIS1 is not an semi open world game with 500 characters.

I was 15-16 years when I played shenmue 1&2 Ryo is older then me that time now I’m double aged him maybe shenmue 4 will be released after 20 years and still ryo is 18
Love how they have tried to keep to the Dreamcast style from Shenmue 1 and 2! and not go over the top... Also love the voice acting is not "professional" quality. waited almost 20 years for this 3rd instalment!!! and now I can finally see how the story comes to an end!! (assuming this is the last one and not having to wait another 20 years of a 4th!! :D)
You know that its expensive to Mocap 500 different NPCs ? Even The yakuza series doesnt do that (NPCs look like marionette there when they "talk"). Its easy to do that in a linear 1-4 character game, but not in a Semi open world game with hundrets of characters. especially not with a game on a budget.
Or blend shapes with Mocap reference poses and audio sync. Cheaper, more efficient for tons of NPCs. Could've already. I think the real issue is the whole character animations. Some just look like they can be improved. Hopefully they will
The speaking is definitely based on Japanese, which is fine by me. It sounds way cooler in Japanese with subtitles. For those banging on about Epic Games nonsense, who cares?! It's a client you can use for this game then uninstall if you wish. You're getting Shenmue 3 after god knows how many years, just chill.
It sounds like he says 'A long time ago, martial arts were bad', which makes the whole bit seem ridiculous. Better with the sound off. The GAME store is very out of place there.
DJB: Skits & Gaming twitter feed they said it's gonna officially come to PC steam in 6 months to a year. Sony is talking on getting this game first on ps4
I’m starting to think they should’ve waited until ps5 came out.. and they definitely need to change Ryos face back to what it looked before. At least he looked somewhat tough. He looks like a softy now 🤦🏽♂️
