This is why I like the two of them they may act like they hate each other but they always have each other’s backs no matter what and that shows the true friendship and brotherhood between them forever and always.

Best scene from my favorite episode. The acting is just perfect in this episode. Having had family members with altzheimer I can truly say the acting of having a simulair decease such as altzheimer was just perfect. And this scene shows the true meaning of friendship in the discussion of saying goodbye now. no your stuck with me. And the big question of this episode is mindblowing. What would you do. Let the decease run its course or let them have one day as themself again knowing that it only be one day since after that they die
This is what made SGA so great. The dynamic and chemistry between Sheppard and Mckay is amazing. They act like brothers, fight like brothers, but most of all have each other's back like brothers. The fact that Rodney was forgetting everything except John was heartbreaking. Especially in his video where he was screaming out John's name.
The Sheppard Mckay freindship was the Atlantis version of Jack and Daniel. It wasn't identical, they had unique play and unique arguments but there are so many moments between the two pairs that i could easily see being in the friendship of the other pair if the situations had played out similarly.
This whole episode is just so good. The script, the audio and the all out on CGI. You dont even need to have watched SG at all i feel. Dementia and Alzheimerz is terrible. This felt like maybe it was a personal story telling partially from one of the writers or a shoutout. It stood out so much. But in a good way.
It always struck me as Rodney slipped away the one constent in his mind, the one thing that is always true is that when he cannot save the day that John will find a way to ride in and save the day. He can always rely on John to save him. John is his saftey.
Just like O’Neill and Daniel, maybe Sheppard and McKay have their differences, one guided by instincts and the other guide by science, but very deep they consider the other a very important friend
