What a day and such a great event Ben … loved every minute. Great to see you at the start and also did you see the photo I took of myself and your Dad at the top of Martha’s ? Thanks to him for waiting so patiently and all the marshals and organisers for such a fab trail marathon. 🏃🏻♂️👊
It was a really great race Michael and it was made even more special because you were there mate! So good to see you again following on from the Omen and your NDW 100 it was a nice surprise to see you there. My Dad enjoyed supporting everyone and all of the volunteers did a great job keeping us all safe and fed. You put in a really strong performance too bud so huge kudos to you! Hopefully I will see you again soon! 😎🤘
Really nicely captured Ben. Good to meet you there and to meet running legend Zachary too! Beautiful moment of you both crossing the finish line together 👍 great running too especially considering you'd been out the night before on the trails to get things set up. Lovely event, definitely hoping to do it next year.
Thanks very much Ben. It was also great to meet you and your family. I enjoy having Zachary with me when I cross the line because he's the reason I started running in the first place. Hopefully we will be able to run together again soon. 🤞 Glad you're going to give the 42k a go next year hopefully I will be able to run it if it doesn't clash with something else in the calendar 😉
Thanks guys! Yeah there are loads of pill boxes all along the North Downs Way there are a great reminder of the country's history. I might do a video where I visit a few of them. Thanks for watching guys! 😎🤘
Cheers Chris! It's a great race mate it certainly has a decent bit of challenge to it. Certainly one I think you should consider for next year mate! 😎🤘
Loved it. Stunning drone footage for the start at st Martha’s. When I got to the fallen tree, I called mr P, and he said turn around. Such a great journey through the race and epic finish. A truely awesome family day for you. Thank you for letting me come to your manor
Thanks very much Paul! It was a great race mate and like I said to you one of the highlights for me was finally getting to meet you! Glad Mr P provided you with some solid advice about the fallen tree 🤣 I love crossing the line with the boys but particularly Zachary as he is the reason I took up running. Hopefully we will run together soon mate! 🤞😎🤘
Great stuff as usual Ben. You have so much positivity when running, its a pleasure to watch. You made it a family day out as well with Dad, Katie and Zachary. Thanks for cheering up my evening. All the best mate.
Very kind of you Pete! It was a fun day out on the trails aside from the tough hills 🤣 I am so glad I got to finish with Zachary he's the reason I started running in the first place. Cheers for watching mate I really appreciate it! 😎🤘
I enjoyed this race vlog Ben! Well done - I watched the vlog from Ben at Time On Feet as well, so it's cool to get another perspective on this race! Some tough, steep trails in this one, but beautiful sights throughout! I love how you always seem to manage to cross that line with the kids! Awesome!
Thanks very much Paul! Ben did an amazing job on the day he ran really well it was just a shame that he got lost at the end. It was a tough course for sure. Some of those hills were killers. Thanks for watching buddy I really appreciate it! 😎🤘
Epic captured and great choice of music. That makes the whole experience so real here from the other side of RU-vid! I love that you share the thrill of finishing with your boy!
Thanks Ivan! I love to cross the line with Zachary he's a huge inspiration and the reason I started running in the first place. Cheers for watching mate! 😎🤘
Well done Ben. You cruised through that race. Thanks for sharing the wonderful footage. Great to see all of the family involved supporting you and the event. Cheers! Phil
Loved the video of your race, beautiful! it must have been pretty challenging with all those hills! And the finish with Zachary was epic. Way to go Ben!
Leith hill is indeed the highest point of the south east.. great running and filming … currently just a pitch hill (watching this whilst stretching/yoga… perfect viewing !)
Yoga up a pitch hill sounds epic James I bet you had some great views while you were getting that done. Thanks for watching buddy I really appreciate it! 😎🤘
You look like you've barely broken a sweat as you cross that finish line. I don't know whether to congratulate you for being an absolute endurance machine, or to crack a whip and tell you to pick it up. Well done.
🤣 I completely agree with you. I did turn off the gas in the second half of the race for sure so I could have pushed a bit harder but I don't think it would have made much difference in terms of placing. Thanks for watching I really appreciate it! 😎🤘
This is my exact thought when I see Ben run 😂 Even the pre-Omen ultras and the Omen run itself, Ben looks so relaxed and comfortable 🏃🏻I think he’s telling us there’s more in the tank 😀
Thanks very much Ty! It was a quality race! Ah dude you should of come and said hey it would have been nice to meet you. How did you get on? Did you enjoy it? Cheers for watching mate! 😎🤘
@@BenNotley loved the race Ben, need to get the fitness back after covid and go and spend more time on the hills. My partners based in Cobham so will be out a bit more for sure. Will def catch up with you at the next event, are you running Hurtwoods?
Cracking content Ben !! Thanks for sharing. It certainly looks like an awesome trail marathon 😀. Like you said your so happy this wasn't in the heat wave it would have been "killer" quite literally. Loved the end and as always your vlogs give me inspiration in mine. Thanks mate 👍
Yeah I think they made the right decision to postpone it for sure. It would have been really tough in the heat and as you say potentially dangerous. Thanks for watching buddy! 😎🤘
oh ben you missed a trick there with the cows. instead of saying good morning you should have said good mooooing. Didn't you fancy having some of those mushrooms. they looked fake something out of super Mario 😜.the views are absolutely stunning but those hills look like a nightmare but amazing you got them done.
Cracking video in what sou DS like an amazing race. Well done on a great run considering you were out on the course the night before. Is Leith Hill near Box Hill? It's always nice to see Zachary in the vids - what a little legend!! 💪
Cheers Neil! Leith Hill isn't too far away from Box Hill there's probably about 10 - 15k between them. I love crossing the line with Zachary. I am sure he would have loved to have run the whole race to be honest 🤣 Cheers for watching buddy! 😎🤘
Great post, The event just got in before the weather turns (events will be very different shortly ) , btw I find the speed goats a tad a bit tight on the toes (have to moleskin tape the toes ) how are you finding them on longer than 30k efforts?
Cheers JBS! Yeah I think they timed it just right. Smack between the two extremes of temperature. I really like the Speedgoat 5s in the upper but I did notice they were quite as cushioned underfoot as the 4s while I was cleaning them I discovered that the insoles are paper thin so I have swapped them out for some Speedgoat 4 ortholite insoles and the comfort has been increased for sure. Thanks for watching buddy! 😎🤘
Cheers James! I think that race would be right up your street mate you should put it in the calendar for next year for sure 👍 I hadn't thought about it yet but I did see they have moved it to February so it could be a snowy one. 🤣 Have you entered? Thanks for watching mate! 😎🤘
@@BenNotley As soon as the date is released I’ll pop it in the calendar. I’ve not signed up to it yet, but intrigued to run a winter ultra, so maybe 🤔. Will let you know if I do. 👍
