I got a kit containing stamps and a detailed explanation of drawing the pattern, but no explanation of how to use the stamps... so this was incredibly helpful and explains the process in a way that I can now go off and make my own. Thank you!
If you ever get to Sheridan Wyoming go to King Ropes and visit their Leather Museum. I lived there most of my life, and never knew it existed. Then when my Mom died and i had to take care of her affairs, and I went down and visited it one day. I was blown away. They have tons of pieces from Al Stohlman, Don King and many others. I was dumbfounded at the skill that these men have.
Awesome to see another Lefty Mr Denny. I saw a video where Denny did some flower stamping with some vainers and other tools like a mule foot some pear shaders and some others tools. I've been trying to find that video I was wondering if you could do another tutorial, that would be awesome. Thank you very much I appreciate you
As a fellow south paw that's not a hooker and works straight handed you're an accomplished toilet. Denny keep up the good work my friend and blessings on ya. Thanx so much for the shot in the arm. Tell the gang hello. Again blessings on yall
That is a great idea, but the live watchers asked for a little closer work than the tripod was getting. So we had to improvise since it was a live video. We are in the process of adding to our technical side of the live videos so that we can switch camera angles. Thanks for the comment.
Love this video but, just FYI Motor Oil is NOT better than no oil. Petroleum based oil will absolutely degrade vegetable tanned leather fibers over time and sooner rather than later. I have done antique leather conservation to include military leather items from WWI, WWII, & the Vietnam War plus antique Western gun leather. While there are conditioning sprays and waxes that contain mineral type evaporative solvents that will not degrade leather that is not synonymous with applications of motor oil causing no harm. Without getting all "tannery science" technical - just don't do it!
