The release came just days after the sheriff said he would start releasing the mug shots of students who are arrested for making school shooting threats; two teenagers and the 11-year-old child were taken into custody within the last few days."

This is so funny cause when I was a sophomore in high school I went to the police on a friend who threatened to shoot up my high school. And while the police dried them out of the school in handcuffs, he cried that it was a joke. Sad truth is the jokes on you

Releasing a video of a minor "convicted" of making a threat would be one thing, but that is a whole lot different than releasing a video of a minor "arrested" for making a threat. If he wants to use a perp walk as a punishment, then that should be part of the *sentence* - not the *arraignment* Due process. Innocent until proven guilty. Yes, even if they're kids.

I can see where he broke the law making the threat, but if they were all "airsoft" guns, they aren't as powerful as BB guns and they shoot a round rubber ball about the size of a pencil eraser 50-100 ft. It would maybe be a danger of poking out an eye or causing a few welts at worse. It's not an arsenal, it's a bunch of realistic looking toy guns. (if I heard the report right)

But the question is, is this sheriff fighting the state and federal government to ban semiautomatic rifles, the gun lobbyists, and the gun loving politicians, or is this just a show to increase his popularity? I'd say the sheriff loves the 2nd amendment, gun lobbyists, and the prison lobbyists because this all gives him a job.

I'm all for it, but so much of our culture now is rap videos where kids just a couple years older then 11 are holding guns and bragging about killing people and that's completely celebrated. No one really says too much about that.

I don't think we need "perp walks" for troubled youth, as much as maybe...free mental healthcare? Red flag laws for guns? Better counselors and discipline for bullying in schools? The tough guy approach doesn't usually work for what are often traumatized children. I know it's nice to condemn people who threaten horrible things like that, but the fact is, they're children and there's always a reason for a child's behavior.

I am very loyal to one particular political party, but as I was scrolling through this comment section, I was surprised to get so far in before somebody had to blow it and talk about which party they were loyal to. This should be a bipartisan issue. I’m really hopeful that after this election we will have a House of Representatives that’s willing to work together to get things done and the Senate willing to do the same thing.
