This is exactly why homeowners should not rent their private homes out to people. People want to complain about not having enough housing to rent but these types of tenants are the reason why. Apartments demand credit checks and rental history so these types of people have to find a private owner who will give them a break and end up getting screwed. I had one tenant that was my friend who stopped paying rent and rather than doing the whole back and forth court thing, I had everything packed up into a moving truck while my stuff was being moved into my house and when she arrived threatening to call the police I told her I had no clue who she was and had her trespassed. She was out in two hours and that was that. Don’t rent houses to people that can’t afford houses. Let them rent apartments.
Its not so much the people...its the system that doesn't allow a Landlord quickly and efficiently remove a tenant who is not paying the rent or is severely impacting the property and community. Landlords COULD take more risk if evictions could be easily adjudicated and completed in 30-45 days
Thats not true...what is true is that LOTS of Americans are struggling due to the ever increasing costs of goods, rents, etc... However this is not one of those situations...this is a bunch druggies who abused the system by not paying rent...the Landlord waited almost a year to have them evicted...look how they lived, roaches everywhere...drugs and mental issues created this situation
@@schawnettarobinson8584 We can't agree that "poor people are depressed" but we can agree that a lot of Americans are struggling financially. But again, this story isn't about depression, its about drug abuse and about an eviction system that is fundamentally broken...think about this - if the system worked and you could evict non-paying tenants or at least have a good faith hearing on the matter (say if the Landlord was neglecting their legal obligations) than it would make it easier for more Landlords to take a chance on Tenants with less than perfect credit, rental history, employment history etc.... As such, a Landlord or PM Company screens out "higher risk applicants" because if they end up "not paying rent" its takes a huge amount of time, money and legal resources to evict them.
