If they fired every cop that was dishonest or crossed the line at one point, we’d hardly have any police officers left. I’m not saying it’s okay in the slightest. Thank god for modern technology and body cameras, they at least try to keep cops honest, but I’m sure if a cop wanted they could circumvent the rules still. I don’t even want to know what it was like for decades when cops had practically zero accountability. No matter who you were, or what you actually did 99.9% of the time the judges would take a cops word over any citizen, and actually that percentage may be lower now, but it’s still unfairly high.

Fish - how many fish had he caught? What bait does he use? Does he like to use live bait, spinners, flies, floats, etc? Does he have a net for scooping fish? Does he have a carry basket? Does he have a scale for weighing his fish so he knows they are legal to keep to make sure they are above minimum weight? Where is his folding chair and umbrella? Where are his snacks and drinks? For some reason I don't think he's a real fisherman. I think he's a bit of a gun nut who likes to walk about wearing a gun across the front of his chest to see what reaction it's going to get. He's doing this in a tourist area. Can you imagine tourists taking video of him and it going viral in their country and how that will put people off going to visit America and damage the economy? Family "we were going to go and visit Disneyland in Florida but after we saw videos of people in Florida walking about with machine guns on their chest and that's perfectly legal we decided to go to somewhere else with our family instead."

I agree with you, personally, I have better shit to do with my time than to go looking for confrontations with police whether it's justified or not. However, whether or not the person was looking for a confrontation or whatever, does not alter the letter of the law. Personally, to be honest, I don't live in Florida, nor do I have any issue with private gun ownership, but I think this law is ridiculous. However, the law is the law.....you don't get to pick and choose which laws you follow based on your own opinion. Either you follow the law or you don't. There is nothing inherently special about any cop. In fact, in general, as a rule, they aren't special. They aren't exceptionally intelligent (not saying they are dumb, but there is no reason to assume they are smarter than any average citizen), in many places they don't have objectively rigorous or strenuous training, and in almost every jurisdiction I know of, they aren't actually held to a very high standard of conduct thanks to the protection of their police unions. Look I got nothing personal against police but lets be honest, no one who could be a doctor becomes a police officer. No one who could be a Navy Seal chooses to become a police officer instead. No one who could be a Marine Scout Sniper chooses to become a police officer instead. No one who could be a lawyer chooses to be a police officer instead. No one who could be a judge chooses to be a police officer instead. No one who could be a Psychiatrist chooses to be a police officer instead. I respect them to the extent that if someone was threatening my life or burglarizing my home they would be the first people I would call without hesitation and I would be thankful for their help. BUT, no one forced them to be police officers, on the contrary, they probably dreamed of being a police officer and would have done anything to become one before they actually were a cop. They knew the risks, they knew the BS, and they knew the responsibility that comes with the job.
