Sherlock realizes emotions can come in handy and having someone or something to fight for can keep them alive, which he obviously prefers to be. He quickly rules out his brother and landlady as emotional reliance, they're too easy to manipulate. The only person who can control him, whose intellect is anywhere near his, is John. Though his intellect is inferior, it's less inferior than others'. He then realizes that logically, John would make a good partner, and he hasn't been able to tolerate anyone else, not really. His only equal was Moriarty, and he turned against him. Perhaps if John was as intelligent as Sherlock, he would realize he should abandon or betray him. Therefore, John is perfect for Sherlock. Sherlock attempts to explain this. John gets mad because it sounds like Sherlock is trying to manipulate him yet again. Eventually he realizes Sherlock is serious and means well. Take it from there.

no no no this has a way too joyful atmosphere to include the jump. and this is what made this video different from others. here we can actually enjoy the two of them having funny conversations. we can rarely do that in other videos. we usually cry ourselves a river in those.

well, maybe you should know that I'm a) not a native speaker and b) I made this video back in 2014 and up to this day, I'm still trying to get better and more fluent in different languages , especially English. Comments like yours just make one feel poor.
