I'm just watching awestruck at 0:55 where someone throws a javelin at her and in one smooth motion she just catches it, flips it around midair, and is ready to throw it back. Amazing! We all aspire to be like this
Massive props to the camera person and the editor too. The archer definitely got some skills and looks a little scary being that calm and collected haha. But love to the people keeping that camera steady and capturing it all, to the editors picking those slow mo moments, it all combines to a great video. Way to go team
Her situational awareness is 5/5! She caught the javelin like a dang action hero, then dodged an arrow, then saw someone come at her, turned to shoot, realized it was a ref or something, and relaxed her draw, all within a split second! Mad control!
She is awesome! Constantly scanning for target and incoming. Constantly moving laterally and back always eyes up scanning. Notching arrows smoothly without looking. By far the most kills than any other. The most unsuspecting on the field but most dangerous.
Her grip style on the arrows really slows her down. She'll never get to 3 arrows in 1.5 seconds that way. But her accuracy and target choice and target acquisition speed are really good.
Can't head shot like that in all LARPs. Might get kicked out of some for shots like that. Props to these guys willingness to take an arrow to the face at 10 feet.
Great archer on the battlefield. Very skilled. Scary archer. Very intimidating. Definitely heard lots of cool things about her. Just not a nice person. I said hello to her for the first time last year. She just rolled her eyes at me as if i was beneath her.
Good situational awareness. Using the big men as both cover and concealment. Knowing what the enemy is aware of and not being in their peripheral. Even foiled being targeted three times that I saw. Good job young lady.
Not gonna lie the song playing tonjer shooting in slow mo is pretty badass and her getting the heads hot on the dude on his knees knocking his glasses off was pretty epic. She's a hell of a shot. I bet she'd be deadly with real arrows
Ha-HA! Well-met and fell-fought sirrahs and ladies! Now off to dine on comestibles fit for a warrior at Ye Olde Burger King! Super cool archery though. And the people who get tagged take it like champs both physically and good-naturedly.
is that a Samick SKB she's using? Any vids of her shooting live arrows at targets? She seems to be very accurate and skilled given the flu-flu nature of the foam arrow. well played!
She is very good. Like any kind of archery, adjustments are made to account for the head weight. Samick bows are quite popular and it is likely one. To my knowledge she doesn't shoot field or broadhead arrows.
This looks like so much fun. Currently active duty military, but I see this happened in Alabama. I was raised in Huntsville, hope I can find my way into a community like this sometime. Any websites or anything like that where I can start?

Talk about putting in the work :O ancestors be looking out for her. Caught a javelin and dodged an arrow like it was another day in paradise and then took out half the team lol plus the reaction aiming is on point as well as the technique. Are the bows rated at standard recurve poundage?
There's kind of a two part answer to this: 1. In order to do formations like you are talking about, people would have to spend time drilling them instead of fighting. And getting people of different skill levels and availability to use their hobby time for that is tough. 2. Shield walls are kind of tough because of the rules. Heavy weapons, including pole arms, can break shields. So shield wall on it's own is somewhat weak. In turn, pole arms are weak to missles. So ideally you have shields and poles covering each other and working together. Plus most of these people are coming from different parks and are unused to working together. That's why it looks a little chaotic. Mixed unit tactics wins out over structure. Bonus: archers firing in a line isn't great because the arrows come at a set time. The threat of an archer in a melee is that they can shoot you at any time, so you have to keep an eye at them at all times. Archers support a line by distracting the other team and splitting their attention.
Damn she's pretty badass I'm pretty sure i just fell in love I don't think I've seen anybody catch a javelin with such little effort flipping back around and send it right back 🤘
Does anyone know if historical archers used the same tactic of staying in the background of melees to pick off enemies at close distance? Seems risky but also pretty effective
Nice! Love it! Im an instinctive pyramid and english longbow archer, no larp though, just target and hunt. Love that tunic and hood with daggings! where can i get one like it? And darn what a lady!
My friend, I am so sorry. Occassionally I’ll get overwhelmed with notifications if a video is running through the algorithm. I apologize. If you decide you’d like one made by this artisan, email me, cometrylarp@gmail.com. Or you can find her on her channel on twitch @pastagobblin
She would probably be a badass archer in medieval Europe, roaming with bands of bandits Lol. Idk, I know women weren't allowed to fight back then, but banditry would be fair game
