LARP Archery 200+ player battle! May Bicolline Campaign Part 1

This event was a Military Campaign at Bicolline, North America's largest Larp. This event was only about 240 players and had unusual rules: no armor, 24" shields, and 1 handed melee weapons.
Basic Bicolline combat rules:
Strikes to the torso or head= death
Strikes to a limb= can't use the limb
Face is not a legal target
Head is not a legal target for THRUST or ARROW attacks
Hits to GARB, EQUIPMENT, or BOWS count as a hit to where ever they are attached.

KarlMoose I have a wool floppy hat with one side pinned up and a bandana over the hat. It did a pretty decent job of hiding it

Ok there is two clocks by that tan building. When you can get to it you activate your sides clock. (this turns off the other sides clock) After the time is called for the game, which ever side has longer on the clock, that side wins.

It would be cool to tie a training elastic band to the handle of the bow and another to your drawing arm so that every time you draw it feels like your drawing a bow that is way heavier than it actually is and give you a light safe realise so you don't hurt other players.

That would severely interfere with the bow, and be potentially dangerous.

For Bicolline 1018 what is the strength of the bow you are using? Are the marshals allowing the round head IDV arrows (I see mostly the flat heads)? Thanks!

Caleb Patterson there is a chart for bows, it’s a little more complicated than just draw weight. I’ll link it I the next video if I can remember. Also round heads are fine. There’s a reason I recommend a specific bow brand though, linked in the description, even if you don’t buy from me, still the best one for bico

For 2019 the roundhead arrows are no longer approved. confirmation through the Bicolline FB group "Bicolline **Page officielle**"

hey are you with TVN? I saw a recent notification saying certain arrows are now banned. is it the round of flat heads?

recently I have heard that the round head IDV arrows are banned and they are approving the flat head ones. I may be incorrect - but I believe that the B3IS arrows are good for Bico. www.b3is.com/shop/2-125-Diameter-LARP-Arrows-p109506428 I think IDV makes a similar arrow - but am not 100% sure on this.

Intressting, we use 40 Pounds Bow and shot at close distances. Do you see a Risk there`?

we use bows that are about 29lbs or under, and when i shoot at close range i only draw it half way

How do you recover your arrows? And how do you know they are yours?

Depends on the game. Some games, classes have abilities to go insub (out of game basically) and can go reload. Most of the time you can just go pick up you own arrows. Unfortunately, he couldn't safely run around to collect (I assume) and during the first part, got legged and couldn't move. Also, usually, you have to have your Arrows specifically marked with your name or logo. The reasons for this is obviously to be able to collect your arrows afterwards and also just in case your arrow accidentally hurts someone or something like that. Hope that help :)

I wish larp was more coordinated and not like airsoft, which is people walking around and not knowing whats going on. I wish there were more like reenactment fights.
