After market magazines are *_always_* a risky buy. Why risk everything for no real advantage? Strange to me unless you are a seller of after market items.
It would make my G43X heavier. Not sure why 15 rounds is better than 10 rounds in a self-defense firearm for concealed carry? - *_Careful_*_ Mike, this question is a trap._ - *Happy Father's Day!*
I have two and have not found them reliable, feed problems and for what they cost should be better. They did not drop free and I did not charge the mag release
I thought I'd never see this type of comment, I'm having the same feed issues. Glock48 jamming frequently with the S15 mags, I own two of them with the Shield Arms aluminum mag catch.
If you have a silver slide 43x or 48, I would recommend getting the plus power springs from shield. I have documented my journey with them so far on my channel, 1k rounds 2 failures to feed. Shield has great service and I'm going to keep pushing these mags to the limit
Interesting. I had 3 failure to feeds today with one of three new S15 magazines. I was running the 43x slide with no issues, when the gun was getting hot I switched over to a 48 slide (purchased from Gunbroker) and thats when the failure to feed issues started.
The magazines for my Sig P320s are all metal AND the mag release on both of my P320s are polymer AND there is NO noticable wear. I cannot believe that a quality manufacturer such as Glock would be using inferior polymer in there mag releases. This is a baseless fear. Moving on now...
They (those S15 aftermarket mags) make my G43X heavier, no thanks. Besides, I usually can hit my target with one (1) or two (2) shots. _But if you miss a lot_ I can see the need for the S15 or S20 even.
Such a hater. Spending so much time bad talking these magazines for what? Do you feel better putting them down on all the G43x/G48 videos on RU-vid? Grow up. If you can't take a few more ounces of weight, you are pathetic. If you have to brag about how you one shot everything it means you are insecure and have to assure yourself through your own words. Also, italicizing and typing in parenthesis to write the numerical meaning of a word on an English speaking video shows how self absorbed and snobby nosed of an individual you are.

I noticed after I load the full 15 rounds and rack a round (14 being left in the mag) i can hear a rattling in the mag...not sure what that's about. I ride with a loaded chamber so I'm 15 +1 which fixes the rattling, but still, with 14 rounds in the mag there's a rattling noise, not with 13 or 12 or less, just with 14.
I was on back order also and finally got a pair, only issue is left hand shooter who have mag release set up for left side the mag won't work. I look forward to that issue being taken care of. Thank you for the review , it is a nice mag and a "game changer".
I have two S15 mags and installed their mag catch on my Glock 43X. So far I have 650 rounds using S15 mags without any failures at all. I do not use steel case or self-load ammo, but use primarily brass FMJ and have also 100 Federal HST hollow point; zero shooting problems. Note Shield Arms offers Service Discounts to active military, veterans and first responders.
How many rounds does one need in a self defense gun! I guess it seems no matter how many rounds a new gun holds, there is always someone who wants more rounds! I own the G43 and I just purchased a new G48. My EDC is the G43 and I will be starting to carry my G48 in a OWB Leather Holster. I about a year ago I got rid of my double stack Guns and switched to lighter/smaller slim single stack guns. I never felt the need for 15 or 17 rounds in my carry guns except when I caried my G19 which was my duty gun! I feel very confident with my G43 & G48 for carry guns. I have also carried my S&W snubby in a ankle holster at times. NO MORE thick and heavy double stack guns for me!
Hmm... I am guessing that either now or later Shield Arms will have the *_S20 magazine_* for the Glock 19. That hold 20 rounds in the G19. Then the story will be, _"Are the G43X & G48 replaced/not needed?"_ On & on. *Theres a sucker born every day* Bullet count is a _sales technique_ for the aftermarket mainly to try and sell you more stuff you don't need. *Every* new pistol that comes out these: - magazine makers, - sights & optic companies, - wraparound grip makers, - light/laser manufacturers, - & so on come out with an answer to a question no-body is asking. They say make your gun better by... or upgrade to this super duper... and the only thing that you really need to better yourself/upgrade yourself is by... wait for it... *_by practicing._* Be the *1st* at the shooting range/training field and be the *last* to leave. *Questions to think about* - _How many rounds does it take to defend yourself_ CCW/CHP i.e. concealed carrying (FBI says on average 2 to 4 rounds no matter how many attackers there are)? - If you use one of those fancy & expensive optic sights in Winter, does it fog up pulling it out from under your warm Coat? - Why buy one of those shiny pimp-ish custom barrels when the factory barrel out last them by far & *the gun itself* is much, much more accurate than the human being is. - etc., etc. *_Go stock, or go home._* NOTE: _Happy Father's Day fellas._
I bought 3 of these and they all have a terrible rattle after loading past the 10th position. They make my CCW sound like a kids rattle toy. Bad. I’m switching back to stock mags.
Hold on Im so confused. How does the mag fit flush inside the gun with an extra 5 rounds and no extension? If they could do this why did the factor mags come with 15 rounds? What am I missing here?
The follower is a little different and it is an all steel mag instead of the Glock factory that uses a metal mag wrapped in polymer. This allows for a slight bit more room internally. Not sure how they can get an extra 5 rounds with that magic, but they made it work!
pollock56th I’m left handed. In 80’s when my police department went from revolvers to SA handguns there was no such thing as a ambidextrous semiautomatic pistol. I adapted by using my gun hand middle finger or trigger finger to eject the mag. It works and doesn’t break your grip. Now even with ambi handguns I still use the same system.
@@captainskippy6622 I tried that method with the metal button too. 2 reasons I am waiting. 1. The magazine did not seat or became unseated when drawing an firing during a GADPA match. Click no bang, tap rack no bang, tap rack 2nd time no bag then bang. That night went back to left handed release button and OEM magazines. Either it is my grip or the metal buttons are slightly higher than the plastic ones. I didnt overthink it I would of been dead if I were in gunfight.
I have four and have had pretty much no issues except for twice not locking open on the last round. That’s really not an issue for me. And I’ve put a lot of rounds through them. They are a little harder to load.
Menace DaMischievious_1 in almost 30 years as a firearms instructor I’ve only seen one squib load in factory made self defense ammunition so I’d say the chances are pretty low on that. Reloads are different. They are a dependable as the reloading components and the competency of the reloader. And I’ve seen tons of squibs with those. But shooting reloads on pretty much any pistol voids the warranty.
