The level modulation does screw with XYZ or Synchro decks... but links do make that not quite as powerful as it used to be.

Lowering monsters' levels by 1 throws off synchro and especially xyz summon lines. It's just a small floodgate as a bonus.

I assume the Level reduction can mess with Monsters that have effects that gain ATK for monster with a specific level while stopping Xyz and Synchro plays. But I can see that effect being used against something like Burning Abyss where Cherubini requires Level 3 Monsters. So send Monk as Synchro Material, all the Burning Abyss your opponent has become Level 2, preventing your opponent from Summoning Cherubini and Dante

The level modulation of the first card reminds me of Mischief of the Gnomes, which may have been relevant prior to links, but now it feels like a very limited and niche floodgate.

Could the "Level Reduction" be to throw off your opponent from Synchro and Xyz summoning into there "intended" targets. Just my first thought.

Instructor is an older chamberlain, who is an older Kageki. Field card plus 500 atk reduction beats most monsters in terms of ATK. LVL reduction is to disrupt synchro and XYZ plays. I am hooked as a sucker for six sams. kind of off we only got 5 cards. Having tuners which special summon themselves gives way more utility to our married couple if only one is in hand. I was wondering why gateway was still limited, and now I know.

Level reduction is there for floodgating xyz and synchro, and some fusions. Drytron Fafnir does this and it comes up quite often.

Stygian Dirge on legs is a nice bonus to have. Not essential, but a nice bonus to deal with any Synchro, Xyz, or Spright deck.

I assume the 2000-point thing with the new Quick-play has to do with Shadow of the Six Samurai - Shien's effect making a Six Sam's atk 2000

Via my knowledge. It gives a more versatile and speedy synchro summoning aura. A flood gate that shuts down just about every synchro and XYZ deck. More samurai to use with the other samurai cards. And more boss monsters to choose from. And oh boy the extra searches and backup effects will be beneficial BIG time when going up against the meta, even if not, they got a higher sharpness on their weapons now.

Rapid dual assault's ATK restriction is likely to make sure it's not book of moon 4-6 and not run outside of niche uses in other decks, as otherwise it has no restrictions on activation, just a condition to get both effects. Kinda weird but reasonable in that way.

The only thing I can think of involving 2000 attack is Shadow of The Six Samurai, which modulates the original attack of a single Six Sam to 2000

Theyre tiny man probally because theyre tuners, tuners normally are tiny cute dudes. I really liked this support, Endymiom synchro and six samurai are two archtypes from the synchro era i really love, used to play miracle synchro fusion on tag force to summon that gaia fusion on my six samurai deck

I imagine people will use the quick play spell that sends a monster to the grave to summon a banished Six Samurai together with the new Enishi synchro. You banish at least 2 Six Sams with Enishi, then go battle, use the spell to send Enishi, and summon one of the monsters you banished. Then Enishi's effect to summon the other.

Six Sams under 2k: Kizaru. Inishi. Kageki. Kagemusha. Fuma. Doji. Kizaru. Hatsume. Shinai/Mizuho. The OG least played Six Sams. With the exception of Grandmaster being at 2100, you can summon any Six Sams

I am guessing for the lore of these Six Samurai cards, is that the Six Samurai Empire in the future are in a war where they are in a losing position. As a strategy for victory, they conducted rituals that would bring back the souls of the deceased Legendary Six Samurais with the herectic monk casting the ritual and the instructor preparing candidates to serve as living vessels for these souls to inhabit. In the background of Enishi Synchro and Shi-En Synchro, there is a dark aura that is being emitted off their armor. I believe that the souls of the Legendary Six Samurais were brought back from the Underworld and are inhabiting living warriors to fight in this war. Probably using the armors of the legendary Six Samurais as a way to bound their souls to them so whoever wears those armors are possessed, gaining their powers and fighting experience.

The level reduction seems to be a way to curb tenpai as it can prevent them from going into their synchros during the battle phase.

I dont how constant they can level 10 but arms of genex would be nice for them

Wild guess, but I think we're going to get retrains of the original core Six Samurai monsters, and this will represent maybe the rebellion against Shien with Anarchist Monk and Instructor being their mentors working for Grandmaster? So this would bridge the Legendary Six Samurai and the Original Six Samurai.
