Did anyone notice that the fruiting block was soaked in bottom half of the bag, do they soak the fruiting block in right from the beginning or after 1st flush?
hi there, how come that some of the blocks are so green? is it some kind of a moss on them? and also are just using that water driping down to the pools under the mushroom bags for just vaporating - "watering" the mushrooms ? thank you very much for your answer :)
The green blocks most likely have a type of Trichoderma mold on them. I’ve seen some mushroom farmers throw out any blocks with Trichoderma whereas other mushroom farmers don’t think it’s harmful and they keep those blocks. I wasn’t there long enough to see their water system in action but I believe the blocks regularly get misted from overhead.
