Just found this video trying to figure out why the crank on my 2nd hand bicycle fell off riding home. Had no tools, and the area looked shady. I got a huge rock and smashed the crank back together to get home. The pin is definitely missing after checking now, and the crank slowly seperates while riding causing the chain to fall off the crank when I shift. 😆
@@BikeTeacher I know the recall is being done quite differently internationally than the way it's being done in Australia. Some videos I've seen from YT channels from USA and UK say that you can bring in just the crankset to the store for analysis, if you don't want to surrender the whole bike. Whereas in Australia you need to bring the whole bike in. I'm not sure if the reporting back to Shimano is even being done in the same way. Some say there's an app. Was just wondering if you knew anything about it
Unfortunately, I only had 2 come in earlier last year. The visual problem was just beginning and the customer purchased their own replacement set. They were going to deal with Shimano at a later date. I am not a Shimano dealer, so I have no interactions with them. Sorry I can not speak on it more.
