How does this compare to the spinfisher? Is this a stronger reel. I have read a lot about the main shaft striping.

Haven't had any problems with these reels but if you are concerned, the Spinfisher is a great reel. We have all the sizes in stock if you want one.

Both reels are great, spinfisher goes for less $$ but there is something about shimano that I can’t overlook: Smoothness.

1:25 medium sp10k yes 4.9 ratio, it have 4.4!, but better,more power. but It is a serious mistake to say that it weighs 28oz 2:00, when in reality it is 33!!!

bg more stronger than spheros? but bg lighter 100grs and spheros more$$))...does it have something better that does not have bg? i need for live bait fishing amberyack, wahoo 20-50lb or moray fish with 65-80lb braid....no problem 4.4ratio or 5.3

BG 8000 way better. My spheros 20 000 stripped main shaft and main gear after one bronze whaler

And also on my BG8000 and BG8000 MAGSEAL I have landed numerous bronze whalers, greys and black rays with no problem and also the magseal is sealed with mag oil so no seal that perish after lots of use

Whipping with Joe on youtube tested many many reels about 70 of them and said the spheros sw 5000+ are the most durable value reels about 355hrs until something small went wrong. His caught a lot of GT fish with only his 6000 Class
