KG Master as long as its like that it still have charm because if the people can tell if its real people will know how much work is going in to it. CGI is just you use a computer and add things
yes i know a lot about cgi wayback i don't appreciate cgi in some films but this one did a fine job im more in love of practical effects and special effects going back decades. i love extremely old stuff and new stuff
I'm pretty sure they chose to scrap the puppet as a cost-saving measure. The animatronic looks like it requires like 20 people to operate--and they clearly intended it only for closeups. There's an entire treatment that could me produced about Shin Godzilla's special effects. But that should be left to people that have experience in digital and practical effects.
@@ZonoseOr to keep to the tradition of having a man play Godzilla, even if it's cgi. I love the image of that one motion capture guy having a mini Shin head on his face lol
The fact the budget for this film was only 15 million. When you compare that to any modern day Hollywood blockbuster it is quite astonishing. Companies like Disney have serious budgeting issues if this film is nearly on the same scope/scale of a Marvel film yet cost less than 10% of their average budget.
@madhatter8508 gotta factor in the time period of shin, it was closer to 2 million, and the director of G -1 said he wished he had a 15 million dollar budget, both movies never hit their full funding allowances.
If I remember right it wasn't abandoned entirely, but it was only used for something like 1 shot where he roars, can't remember though if that shot actually got used in the film or was just in one of the trailers
It would be cool if they made a Godzilla movie where they used animatronics with tons of articulation, and used CGI to enhance it and make the movements more smooth and natural. A blend of cgi and practical effects sounds really interesting but oh well.
Director : Cut!! I said cut!! Stop that godzilla! Controller? Where's him!? The controller of that thing? Controller guy : i ain't touching the controller!
but it just look good not good very good if its true that it can't move natural why don take the animatronic's godzilla model skin and remove it and make it a suit for a guy to put on
I watched Shin Godzilla with my family, my father who usually never says anything about the movies I watch suddenly talked about the film, saying that the movie is very good. So, I took the initiative to watch the Godzilla movie minus one, and my father cried when the main character died. Oh man, this is the first time in my life that I could enjoy a movie with my family, especially with my father. ❤
Nah the cgi was fine, they did mokap to give off that uncanny man in a rubber suit look and it worked. Plus they likely only intended the animatronic to be used for close-up so it probably wouldn't have gotten much action.
I think the jankiness of the animatronic, how it shutters and jerks around would have added another layer to Shin. Like it was in constant pain, visibly finding its own limitations and breaking them.
I can't believe that a godzilla analog horror series became so popular....I guess because we're eating good with some great Godzilla content ofc a fan was like hey lemme do some Wild sht and create Man in the Suit
Its so aggravating watching adam turn off non-lethal and no one in chat warn him. The chat in general is making this whole playthrough aggravating. But luckily adam is having enough fun so i can edure the brain dead schmucks in chat.
I don't understand why they went with CGI. This looks 100000 times better! It's so much more fluid, the one in the film was all jerky. When TOHO inevitably makes another Gojira movie, I hope it's all rubber suits and animatronics!
Um....the jerky movement is to mimic the animatronics. They specifically made sure the cgi still had that feel. Its why his arms have awkward movments and just flew fingers, like this puppet.
I think I have an image of this puppet for my desktop background at work. He's so beautiful and you can just feel all that sculpted, handcrafted texture. He's beautiful
Still don’t get why they changed to cgi, it of course looks amazing in the film anyway. But it is sad to see how fluid this actually looks and how’s it wasn’t used at all. The footage looks great and the attention to detail is astounding!
i feel so bad for shin godzilla when he roars it’s him in agony of the boiling blood rushing through his body and In the atomic breath scene he wasn’t mad he was confused and was just trying to protect himself
