Welcome to my playthrough of Shin Megami Tensei V: Vengeance and today, we tackle the Canon of Vengeance's secret boss the original angel Satan and his Magatsuhi Plunder ability, with the combined might of the Volcano Goddess of the Kanutsikami, Lord of the Flies Beezlbub and Arioch a guy so powerful he kills all of his other allies just to make things even we attempt to beat this unsurmountable foe

Just so everyone is aware. You do NOT need to get the True Neutral ending to fight Satan. Alot of people believe this cause tons of sites state this. No. You only need to beat the game once, whether it be COV or COC.

Yes this is true. I do not understand why so many sites were writing that you have to get the true neutral ending in CoC to beat Satan. If I mentioned it correctly you have to beat game only once, in a Route where you have to beat Lucifer. This means either one of the Routes of CoC or CoV except the Destroy the Throne ending, which is the normal neutral Ending. And to get Lucifer you must not have to beat all the simulation fights, only start a new game in Godborn Mode and you can fusion Lucifer.

He *really* makes it sound like you'd need True Neutral considering you wrested the world from Mandala. All the other endings (save for Neutral) have you continue to play along with Mandala.

No the prerequisite is to beat a super Lucifer. The misrepresentation is that you have to be the true neutral cuz it’s the only route that forces you to fight him, where you have an option to in CoV. It’s not a bad idea to go CoC first cuz masakado is unlockable there and he’s kinda good. Kinda a big deal 🤣

I beat the game, and load my old Save File from my first playthrough. Cause i wanted to find all Mimas. Suddenly i had a Quest where i could fight Satan.

Oh fyi Johne Satan's megiddo ark as a boss was strong BECAUSE of the number of allies in the fight against him. So it wasn't nerfed, its just weaker because there's less use for it outside of fights with multiple enemies.

Megido Ark kinda sucks unfortunately, I feel like they could have buffed it by changing its effect in two different ways: 1. Make it damage increase depending on number of foes AND allies, not just foes which is how it is normally. OR 2. Reverse the effect so it does more damage the LESS foes there are. Would make it weaker on boss fights that summon minions or have multiple targets but would probably be better overall since there are usually more bosses that are single target than multiple.

@c01onel Considering he is one of the last bosses you fight, I think Megido Arc is fitting. Satan's name means Adversary and while you can make it work in the hands of the player, it works best against the player.

You say the only way to survive that opening Megiddo Ark is Enduring Soul, but I'd argue that it might be possible by starting the fight with a solo Nahobino (I'll need to test this myself), then summoning someone like Nahobeeho and using Omagatoki: Strategize to get your whole party summoned. Only downside is that it makes you wait to use your actual Magatsuhi strategy, but hey.

Crazy how the artist who made this version of Satan actually used inspiration from the description of the 7 Headed Dragon in the Book of Revelation A great dragon with 7 heads and 10 horns, the smallest of them with 4 while the rest have 1 In the Book of Revelation, the dragon also had 3 other beasts that rose from the seas beside him, a bear with dark fur, red eyes and 3 ribs in its mouth, a leopard with 4 heads and 4 wings and a lion with wings

*{Yr 2; Day 67} of been impressed by P5R and waiting for P6.* When I first saw this design in Apocalypse, I was geniunely mesmerised. I prefer this design of Satan over the Persona one BY A MILE! I could never think of a deity of this design as our ally though, its final boss worthy. GODDAMMIT MASTEMA! I didn't know there was more after this, damn...

I have to say that I love the design they have for Satan in this. One of the best designs of the character I have ever seen. The ten horns and Seven heads, the nails piercing through his hands. It's such a detailed design with so many references.

I don't know if you want to fight Demi-fiend again, I understand not wanting to fight him. But with Vengeance there a more strategies and skills. I've seen people fight him with Strategize to skips turns + Arahabiki stat copying ability. Baal & Nuwa for extra turns. Even Amanozako ability works. Just some ideas. Plus Demi-fiend as an ally is a dream we've had since the original game.

Agree, in fact personally even though I'm playing on Safety difficulty, I still need to make some small time strategy to beat Demi-fiend than I did with Satan since Demi-fiend's affinity/resistances makes him almost untouchable to everything except critical, almighty and piercing attacks.

The way this fight plays out kind of reminds me a little bit of the Demi-fiend in Digital Devil Saga. And that nerd ended my lv 70+ ass in less than 10 seconds. Literally.

Loved this boss, I used a similar setup but with Masakado as my main damage dealer. He was a champ the entire time I had him and put in some serious work every time I would use him, and I brought my Masakado into literally every superboss fight. Arioch is probably a better pickup, but I just really love recalcitrant execution for dealing with the minion summon mechanics of both Satan and Demi Fiend haha

Yeah the Mastema you met before to do the Samael quest is just a projection. A remnant like the other three. But honestly I do wish they had reveal Mastemas true Lord via main story on the Chaos ending. It would further swerve the twist.

i beat him with a magic build on hard and it wasnt too bad thanks to luminescent mirage, ikuyumi, omnipotent succession, and to a lesser extent megidolaon. and of course having demifiend for chaotic will is just really good in general even if you do have a phys bino, and masakado is good for this as well you should also have oyamatsumi in stock for blossoming sakura with my strat. i was surprised that he never used it in this fight

I like that, despite how sneaky and underhanded Mastema was, he was still a good guy in this game similar to SMTIV, and wasn't working for the Creator/YHVH, but the Great Will/Axiom who is the highest entity in the Megaten series. Also we meed to talk about how broken Arioch is, I did not expect Avenger to be THIS broken that it makes all the Super Bosses including Demi-Fiend very managable

@@tyler_liwan5 yeah I kinda agree, but that's because he studied and knew the fight beforehand, but If you don't have a good strategy and a way to deal high enough damage to kill the demons before he consumes them, then Satan WILL punish you badly, on hard difficulty I went completely blind on this fight and died at least 15 times before coming up with a strat to beat him
