Out of everyone, I enjoy your reactions the most because they are pure and filled with emotions. With that said, I’ll take a page from Kaie: I don’t think you’re cut out for this anime. Stop now before you regret it 😂 Ok, that was a joke. You will definitely NOT REGRET this rollercoaster of a series. Idk how much you’ve been spoiled, if you’ve been spoiled at all, but the ending of this first season (I refuse to believe this will be the only season), which is episode 23, is perfectly worth the pain and suffering you’re going to feel. You have to make it to the end!
War is Dark, Horror, Scary, and Black, there are no other words. At one time I have the same reaction like you did, I just did not like to watch but in the end I was more interested whats going to happen next because this Anime is more interesting to me than any other Anime like AoT or even Jujutsu Kaisen, and other over hyped anime. This anime is a hidden gem from the anime community. No spoilers here, but there are part 1 and part 2 of 86, you are watching part 1, continuing watching it until you reach part 2.
You find it more interesting simply because 86 is a better story than the others you mentioned. Jujutsu is a good show but the story itself isn't that wow, same goes for anime like Demon Slayer. AoT is something that tries to reach deep but fails or atleast is not at 86 level imo. This series did way better in Japan than outside Japan and the problem is that international audience is just too draw to those series with big promotions behind their back.
@@TeoITAAoT failed because it didn’t give hope to readers/audiences. 86, and its author Asato, wrote a grim story, but it still gave hope to the audiences/readers that despite the darkness, there will always be light. It’s like Shin and Lena. Shin represents the horrors they are experiencing, but Lena represents that hope and promise of a bright future. AoT and Isayama didn’t even bother giving that. He focused too much on the cycle rather than the end of each cycle.
Shin can hear the voices. He attributed it to the fact he almost died as that’s when it probably started for him. When they have their para raid active, anyone connected to shin (Lena and the other 86 of spearhead) can hear what he hears. But not when it’s disconnected.

It's pathetic that some people can't keep their mouth shut! Stop trying to look smart by robbing Faroh from discovering things at her own pace, when the anime is supposed to drop the facts. At this rate you will also rob us from amazing reactions. Some people are really helpful, clarifying things while being careful not to spoil, but some just want their 5s of glory and it's sad.
16:15 Actually, with how Jerome talks to Lena, I've always thought that he agrees with Lena except he is of the mind to do "what's best for the nation." He knows the Eighty Six are actual real people, but it's too late to change that the Alva have genocidally locked in their social and political positions. "Sure, my daer neice, they are people. People that we have systematically destroyed as races. That means we gotta continue on until they are all gone. Then, no one can know we slaughtered all of those "people." It ferls like he knows they are fucked up, but he's down to play his part.
@@ErisianRomantic I think the anime slightly short changes Jerome. I think anime onlys tend to come off with the idea that he's much more higher ranking and more powerful than he really is. Kind of like how a lot of show watchers think the Republic is a military dictatorship. I think Jerome is a man stuck between the people through their government have decided to do something monstrous and quitting would mean abandoning an existential struggle for his country.
EP 8 spoilers It honestly makes him even more despicable. A true believer could be mistaken on the facts about Alba and Colorata and could conceivably be made to step away from such a horrible way of doing things. Jerome knows that what he's doing is wrong and puts off his responsibility as an officer and as a citizen to even try to change things. He's just given up on humanity as a whole.
