📌 *"Shin Shōryūken" Hidden Move in Shenmue Unlocked After 20 Years By Fan in Japan* www.phantomriverstone.com/2019/06/shin-shoryuken-hidden-move-in-shenmue.html 📌 *Shenmue Dojo Forum Discussion:* bit.ly/2WI4ukZ
As Sanshoryu pointed out in the comments this is a Tiger Uppercut there is subtle difference being that the leg on the side that is punching is straight whereas with the DP the leg is bent.
As much as I'm opposed to guest characters in SFV.......If Capcom *were* to ever put in a guest character (Final Fight characters don't count.) Ryo Hanzuki would be my choice. :)
This is why I love Shenmue, there’s just soo much depth to this game. Even after 20 years we’re still finding something new we didn’t even know that it existed. AMAZING! Long live Shenmue.
Wow! Even after so many years new secrets about this game are still being discovered, Shenmue is truly a masterpiece! The first part of the move looks like the Shin Shoryuken but the last move looks like a Tiger Uppercut. It's a shame Yu Suzuki requested this easter egg to be removed, AM2 really was full of very talented developers with a good sense of humor! It makes me a little sad that these developers aren't working in Shenmue III
People saying that this is fake, or they can't have street fighter in the arcades in shenmue 3 because it wasn't in arcades until 91. Well shenmue features a Sega Saturn (which wasn't released until 94'-95'') in the cabinet underneath the TV in Ryo's house in the living room that you can take out, place on the table and play Saturn ports of space harrier, and hang-on! That you can win with the raffle tickets that you get from purchasing certain items in the tomato convenience stores. So I don't think the whole "time period" thing matters in the shenmue lore.
There was a new move I've never seen ryo do when I had the shenmue1movie for shenmue2 and it was when he was in the 70 men battle and I thought it might had been that move from that tiger scroll he had which reminds me!!! when will he ever unlock that move??????
What's everyone's favorite version of the Shin Shoryuken? Mine has to be Gouken (SF4), the impact in each hit just sounded and looked like unbelievable powerful yet fully controlled force. SHIN! SHORYUKEN!
NaughtyDog161 Licensing stuff would be a bigger problem than date accuracy stuff, afterall Ryo has a Saturn in Shenmue I which takes place 1986 not to mention all the SEGA capcule toys and now in Shenmue III: the Shenmue capsule toys.

I remember fighting that thug on the New Yokosuka harbor with a QTE back on my first playthough on my dreamcast. Its where my save couldn't proceed further cause an event wouldn't trigger after spending my entire time to reach until new year.
"Is this a fake?"Just read the site was/is real but cant be unlocked through normal play.. need a hack and was in the game as an easter egg but Yu had it removed! So they disabled it but didnt remove it from the code!
@@TungstenViper yes i do... "is this fake?" Is a question people would ask.. i wasnt asking it!.. whats happening here is not a mod! Do you know how a mod works? A mod would be putting another character in Ryo's place! A hack is enabling secret source code that has been disabled!
@@madatyoutoob 1st of all it wasn't easy to udenrstand you were mentioning people. 2nd, that's not what a mod is. Changing a model is not all the a mod can include. Enabling strings of code to a key can be a mod too. the hacking part comes from ripping the code from the original script and extrapolate it to do whatever you want with it.
@@TungstenViper you could write extrapolate but you wrote understand wrong... that's why i put what was in the article and i added quotation marks over the question! The people that 👍my comment understood me.. trust me its not that big of a deal! Good day to you and happy shenmue-i ng
TungstenViper “1st of all it wasn’t easy to undenrstand you were mentioning people”. The quotation marks were the first sign he was QUOTING someone else....as thats what quotation marks are for. 2nd clue was he answered the damn hypothetical question within the same comment? I and everyone else who finished elementary school understood that. Do you know how reading comprehension works?
Wait waif wait...i haad that move when i was 11....that was a secret??? Then avain i legit played the gsme for ober a year strait without besting in, being stuck st the same spot with the forklift job, daay in and daay out going to EVERY SINGLE PLACE not knowing why it wouldnt advance...then i realized, the waay i eas stacking the boxes was also a glitch, or secret to where the game will let you make infinate money during the job viaa going over quota, so once i stopped and plabed the boxes singley....one night it just happed, aafter over a year of plaaying....i waas so fuckin stoked.
This is awesome but I wish people would stop wording it like this, it’s a false headline. The move is buried in the code, it’s not “unlocked” by any means. I was disappointed when I found that out because you guys had me thinking it was something that took many years to discover.
The easter egg is there even in the vanilla game, the thing is that the frame window for inputting the move is so small it's humanly impossible to perform. This reminds me of the Super Spindash glitch in Sonic Advance 1 it's humanly impossible to perform but with a Tas device it's possible.
S.C.H 2.8 Ah, thanks for clarifying! I still stand by my point though and what you said reinforces it. I thought it WAS humanely possible and all that.
Well it was recorded in low resolution from the PC version in 4:3 aspect ratio. Look at the small text, Here's the original video from Nicovideo: www.nicovideo.jp/watch/sm34980143
at the end of the QTE at the harbor, if you input Hado Hado* + A within 3 frames, you'll perform a Shōryūken.' *"Hado Hado" (or 236 236) refers to performing the command for the Hadoken move from Street Fighter by moving the D-pad down, down-right, right in rapid succession (twice in a row).
It's real but here's the catch the frame window to input the move in the vanilla game is 3 frame making it humanly impossible, a former AM2 dev talked about this in a Discord server about Easter Eggs last year, he said Yu Suzuki requested this to be removed, no one knows why, probably in fear of a lawsuit from Capcom? Maybe? So the devs made the input impossible to do but didn't remove the event itself. Recently a fan was able to find the line of code tied to the frame window to input the move in the pc port and made it into 6 frames making it possible to do, it's possible to enable 6 frames on Dreamcast but the placement of the line is probably different.
