My wife and I saw pink Floyd earls Court 94. Sadly my wife has passed on now. The thought of her and watching the world moving so fast past this guy brings tears to my eyes.
Brother, I don't know what to say...so I'll say this...I've been with my wife for 30 years and I know that if she goes first, I'll know how you feel...I'm sorry that yours left early and my heart breaks for you...but, you do have some excellent memories and for those you are eternally grateful...Shine on you crazy diamond!
I'm halfway through and between the images of the fast paced crowd and those doubledecker buses flashing by and that ambulance's siren laying a remarkable track, this is recording gold! Phenominal talent although wasn't expecting a background track but hey, it's Pink Floyd. In the 1970's they would've had to stop traffic there would've been so many people standing and watching. Bravo!
5:46 was I the only one that noticed that the sirens from the ambulance was right on time and actually sounded good?? 😁 It was a perfect naturally included element to the setting and environment that Miguel is (as always) beautifully playing guitar.
Being 50 now....gray haired, and broken...this takes me back to when I was young...my mother would play pink Floyd..... Hearing this makes my scalp tingle, as tears well up in my eyes. So hauntingly beautiful
swag gaming2106 watch his stairway to heaven version. People walk across the riser he’s on and don’t have a clue what’s happening right in front of them.
Yep totally. A truly sad reflection on how ignorant people have become. Nigel Kennedy proved the point as well. The only solace you can take from it is the 5 % of people that understand and appreciate music and what it brings to our lives.
Let people have lives, for Christ's sake. I hate when people rag on others for not sitting down and watching street performers. As great as this was, you're not entitled to people's attention, and they probably have places to be.
Very professional, skilled, utterley brilliant and world just passes by as he is a nothing, what a world we live in. Who ever recorded this, you've made my day.
Guys a total genius, how appropriate his talent is being expressed during a song called "Shine on you Crazy Diamond" because this guy is shining and he is an absolute Diamond.
Captpicard so so true my friend one soul crying out to a souless society, screaming out, I exhist , so do you, were just too lost soul in a fishbowl swimming round, year after year
The filming/recording and his talented playing is the perfect sync for the very essence of the group and song to me. It's like... Never mind the outside world, it might not even notice you... but your light and beauty is always there so "Shine On You Crazy Diamond" . Drink in, reflect out, resonate with " All That Is " So be it... Amen ❤️
I listen with my eyes closed, so painfull to see all those people just passing by. Miquel you deserve a real audience with whom you can share your gift of making Magical music. From Holland I would like to thank you for your posts with these great moments of pure Happiness.
Today people are in such a hurry they don’t stop to look around them or listen it’s amazing when you do people! Great performance! David must be proud of you!
Respect the Floyd, respect the Floyd ??? Of course !!! Don't try to change what was done by Gilmour, the best is already done yet ! You don't have to improvise or try to do better !
It always amazes me when I see people walking around in their little bubbles, and won't take a minute of time to stop and enjoy the talent someone else is basically offering for free. I've watched other videos of this young man's ability and hope he goes far in the musical field.
not only is this guy an awesome player, but to hear the music bouncing off all the buildings in the city and carrying all over the place is something to experience if you've never heard it before. Too cool.
The melody plays on, like the fall breeze through the air . The people carrying on with out a stare . The world is amidst a sound that can't be broken even by sirens of the street, for he knows the sound mustn't miss a beat , thank you for sharing your stings of your passion even for those that are missing the action !
I am not impressed , I am just super impressed ! You just did a real cover of one of the most emblematic progressive rock themes ever . You've stamped your signature with your impressive guitar knowledge and virtuousness .... bless !
I can't believe that almost anybody isn't even looking what this genius is doing here! People are just passing by! :-( He's got lot's of "Flamenco" in his playing! Absolutely great!
The original version of this isn't actually too bad to play, I've been using as my main song for practice as an intermediate it's nice and slow but still so much fun. This guy's version is amazing though.
That guy with the orange bag somewhat resembles modern-day David Gilmour! Hmmm, interesting. And this guy on the guitar is very talented - an honor to watch!
It bothered me that I thought he was filming in portrait, then when he pulled out the other phone, I realised he must be a drug dealer, and his wife has told him to pick up some milk on the way home.
This reminds me of an actual Pink Floyd music video. City streets with people just walking by carrying on with life is pretty much what I imagine when listening to the long intro of this song. Great video and performance the way, nicely done.
Amazing. Sooo close to perfect! Ashamed so many people missed out by just walking past. People need to stop and enjoy the great things in life like this moment.
I know lots of comments criticising people just walking by but it makes the vid special.....a real feeling of isolation and alienation...one of the most powerful vids I've seen for a while. Those sirens...
Wow incredible. Life is short take time to appreciate these things and hear someone vent their soul through their instrument. I hope there are more to come.
The fact, that people are passing by just like that, proves we have failed as a human society. A shame to both the musician and the song. Flawless performance
They wouldve stopped if he played a kim Kardashian or Taylor swift song or whatever the hell those guys are. People just cant appreciate good music anymore
I love to listening to this man and his guitar playing. He is brilliant, he just hit the sound... Keep your passion going Miguel......You are one off few.....
@@jasperkensington2644 Very strange thing just happened. I am watching FUNNIEST Fails Compilation August 2018 on you tube, I was 3.04 mins into this youtube post when "wish you were here" started to play in the video. At the exact same time the song started off Your notification popped up on my screen. Very Strange. by the I am a die hard Pink Floyd Fanatic.
@@caseyjones3684 What happened to you is called "synchronicity", Carl Jung writes a lot about it, look it up, you will like it if u recognize such things.
I am always surprised by the number of people who just walk by such a talented musician. I'm grateful I was born with the gene that enables me to enjoy and appreciate music.
Again this evening after a hard week of work. The sound of Miguel performing PINK FLOYD and the video with the live of people and the sound of the street surrounding him. More than great!
The people walking past without even noticing were probably all in a rush to get home and watch a bunch of dogs jumping through hoops on Britain's Got Talent, without any idea of what real talent actually is.
And the song haunts and echoes thru Gray London bringing the soul of Syd back if only for a minute, floating above in the clouds. That's how I see it at least.
My fellow Floyd fans will love this simply for the song, Shine On You Crazy Diamond... I love this video for the awkward but effective humanity that spills through the view as he plays it in London. ❤️
THE greatest Rock Band to ever come out of the U.K. and none of the younger ones seem to recognize this tune. Excellent job man from across the big pond.
All the sound engineers and mixers needed to make Gilmour and Knopfler sound the way they do, and this dude does it all by himself, with a pretty modest guitar, and very little sound equipment. I've seen quite a few of the street guitarists on youtube, and no doubt they are some of the greatest guitarists out there.
Doug Hendrixson With all due respect technology has come along way with all those effects now housed in tiny boxes and relatively cheap which were not available back in the day.And if they were ,they were hideously expensive or limited to studio setups.I have basically got what he has hereDelay, overdrive, wah and most likely a looper all for under a grand. And decent guitars and amps are cheap now not the crap I first had in the 70s.This is not to take away anything whatsoever from his performance which is superb.I do solo performances which are so much easier thanks to technology. You still need talent though lol
Alan Parson, the engineer behind DSOTM and legendary songwriter himself, has commented on how easy it is to do things in the studio now compared to back then
"a modest guitar"? That is a Gibson Les Paul, and quite a fine piece of equipment. I cannot guess what it cost, nor does it matter--it is far from a "modest" guitar--
@@JohnJones-ps9fo Definitely not a Gibson Les Paul, but stand corrected on it being modest due to the pickups: www.modernmojoguitars.com/miguel-montalban-londons-busker-extraordinaire/
@@DUGGER1947 Please accept my apologies--you may be correct on this video--but, he is clearly seen on other videos playing a Gibson Les Paul edition, clearly marked at the head--I have no clue how many other guitars this man owns or has access to--in no way does the quality of the guitar detract from his skill as a musician. Another "critic" commented that he "over plays" sometimes--perhaps that is also tru, but I would have to believe that he is simply trying to make people notice his performances and his expertise while he is playing in an arena where people seem to be completely ignorant of what he is doing.
I feel blessed that someone had the inclination to actually spend some time and film this. I also feel blessed that I am not living a life that would push or even allow me to rush around like a rat in maze rather stop and absorb this genius playing. My fingers can't even dream of moving like his. I LOVED THIS!!!! The inability for people to "Stop to smell the roses" makes one wonder how much life is missed in the rush to the grave.
This footage is somehow the perfect image of London. The hustle and bustle and constant chaos and nonsense, people rushing about. And here's this lone spirit playing the most wonderful music of Floyd in amongst it all, blissfully unaware, unconcerned with the madness around him, just as the madness around is unconcerned with him.
If this amazing piece of music can't get the world to stop and appreciate it, we are doomed as the most useless species on the face of the planet. Amazing guitarist right there!
Yes, not only did so many of those passers-by miss a brilliant rendition of a Pink Floyd classic, Miguel Montalban is no ordinary street performer, he's a highly successful musician in his own right.
As we move closer and closer to a cashless society it is only a matter of time till guys like this become a thing of the past as we walk bland streets in search of our destination. This guy is fantastic.
What a mind blowing 😍 performance! Absolute stunning rendition of the evergreen masterpiece. The sound canvas and tone was just perfect!!! Including the sax guitar near surreal mix at the end 👏👏👏👏👏💯💯
Absolutely awesome. people walk past as if in such a hurry, how can they not notice/acknowledge this guitar genius? Well I suppose the answer is because most people are tone deaf! what a shame more don't appreciate what they are seeing and hearing.
Dude needs a band. He’s so talented most wouldn’t recognize just walking by, though some did. I’m not sure what PRS he was playing but he made it sing. You could tell some sat there stunned. Incredible talent.
Wow what a superb video. Not only is the guy's playing amazing but the sound recording and camera angle perfect but the background city noise lends perfectly. Not to mention the combination of some people ignoring it like nothing is happening and those stopping to take it in. Its like a masterpiece dropped right in the middle of crazy life. It's almost like it was planned that way, maybe it was.
I'm sure many are on a schedule. It's called the modern world. I'm sure you've heard of it. And I wouldn't call them fools, that's rather presumptuous.
Haha! Grow up?...Really?...You are being childish...and appear somewhat challenged...Have an adult read my posts to you...ask them to point out where I said the people were fools (Your words, not mine)...and where I said they were idiots (Again, your words, not mine)...Then...get a life you turd...My words.
Jim myz Well, since this is a major tourist section (cause who would be stupid enough to plant themselves in an area primarily composed of 9 to 5ers, really?) I could see lots of people meandering about , not headed anywhere in particular. If you watch the people, you can pretty much tell tell who has to work & who doesn’t. I can tell you do, cause your angered by a person who does what they like with their life & still gets paid. If it’s such an easy thing to do, go do it, you guitar hero, you🤣 Who knows, it could just be a hobby they do on their days off. Fairly presumptive to think the way you do, my guy...
Those people who passed this Genius, perhaps dont even listen to Pink Floyd either, but people in big cities has always a rush,,,,He has a classical background,,,This is one on my best Floyd's tune,Live always gives me Goosebumps
Hard work and long hours of practice at the sacrifice of other pleasures can pay off. I can't imagine how much work this young man has invested for it to come out sounding like this. Mind boggling self discipline.
