Replay is actually from 2008, it was re-uploaded in 2011. They debuted at such a young age, Taemin was only 14 at that time and the oldest which is the leader is only 18. The girl is Victoria, the leader of their sister group F(x). This MV came out more than a year before F(x) debuted so this was Victoria even before debut. This is FOREVER the most ICONIC kpop debut of ALL TIME. It never gets old. I miss Jonghyun's beautiful voice so much. RIP Jonghyun :(

Yeah I actually noticed that the song wasn't uploaded on release after we finished the video. Maybe we'll have to go check out some F(x) videos as well!

This song swept all the awards when it came out in 2008. Prior to SHINee, there were no boy groups doing the intense singing and dancing like in Replay. They were the blueprint for future Kpop boy groups. Replay was nostalgic and sentimental when it came out and it continues to be very nostalgic and well-loved for shawols. I think the song is a classic. If you would like to react to more SHINee, I suggest One of One or Married to the Music. Your Number is also fun. View is something completely different. SHINee has a lot of weird B-sides too that I wish more would react to - Orgel, Odd Eye. Anyway, thanks for the reaction!

It's interesting that you said that this choreography is stronger than most of the other kpop songs released at this time, because that was exactly what made SHINee stand out. SHINee's dance practice video for Lucifer, released in 2010, is the reason why idols release dance practice videos today. Many of the end-of-year awards for best group/solo performance have been won by SHINee and Taemin respectively. SHINee is also often nicknamed CDNee for their ability to perform difficult choreographies live while singing and sounding exactly like the studio recordings. They set a lot of the standards for the kpop you know today.

It would be weird for them to have a dark concept in the beginning, when most of the members were underage ;) But they are the kings of concepts, they have so many different songs in different styles.

Omg! I’m so glad you came back on SHINee’s beginning 😍😍😍😍😍 Thank you for your reaction! 👏🏻 The song is Noona neomu yeppo (Older sister so pretty) they boy is in love from an older girl but she thinks he is young and knows nothing about love. Actually they continue with the story with “Love Sick (2015)” and the boy is now dating with that noona 😁 on this comeback they have “Marry you (2021)” and now the boy wanna marry her 👌🏻 If you read the lyric you can find the references ☺️ Thank you again! Hope you can continue with this journey 💎 Ps. Your are totally right... they start the trend with this kind of choreography, and they sing and dance live flawlessly, that’s why a lot of juniors don’t cover them 🤣. You can follow their MV chronologically and see their evolution .

Yes, SHINee has come a long way in the past 12+ years, but their latest MV "Don't Call Me" really isn't showing how much they have changed as a group -- on the contrary, it's actually showing exactly what makes them icons and it proves that they are still the industry's changemakers, which is what they have become known for. SHINee are just doing what we have all come to expect from them -- showing us something that has never been seen or heard before and starting a new trend. Nothing you hear from them will ever be like anything you have ever seen or heard before. They raise the bar even higher with every comeback. And that's what makes them SHINee. :D With every new song release, SHINee are expected to come out with a style and sound that is brand new, not only for them, but in the industry as a whole. And the contrast between "Replay" and "Don't Call Me" is a perfect example of that. SHINee where designed to be SM's experimental boy group, so everything they do is meant to be the first and they are expected to set the trend. With every new song SHINee produces it's expected to be different than the last, so you will never hear the same style or sound from them in any of their songs, even on the same album, and yet, somehow it will always sound like SHINee. The industry looks to SHINee to show them what the next song style and dance trend will be. And it is said that within 3 months of SHINee releasing their new song and choreography, you will see that same sound and style being duplicated across the industry with every comeback to follow from both boy groups and girl groups. When SHINee does something the industry takes note and follows suit. SHINee has started the trend with almost everything -- with every one of their songs to their dances to clothing trends, to live performances, to the way Kpop is promoted -- there is almost nothing that can't be attributed to something SHINee has been involved in. If you like their dancing, you should check out SHINee's "Replay" dance practice. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-gv60nR3_69U.html. It's not an official dance practice video because dance practice videos didn't become a thing until 2010 when SHINee released the industry's very first dance practice video with their song "Lucifer," but it is a real dance practice video from way back to SHINee's debut days. SHINee were literally the first group to ever release a dance practice video specifically for fans to watch and they are the reason why Kpop groups produce dance practice/choreography videos today. To get to know all the members of SHINee, I recommend watching a group guide video called "A Very SHINee Guide." Not only is this one of the best SHINee guides, but it is one of the more recent (2018). ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-ctIp6XGCK7E.html. The person who created the group guide has also recently released (released in the last few months) individual member guides Taemin: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-hH5r88pfH9U.html, Key: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-ADUrw9CeiEk.html Onew: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-KK8rLkV5bk8.html, and now, Minho: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-Ko9u6IjFzC0.html, and Jonghyun: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-7EqwuWuZXcI.html. SHINee are known for their live vocals and amazing dancing. They are known as CD-quality singers because they sound just as good live, if not better, than they do recorded. SHINee always sings live. The ONLY thing they are not good at is lip syncing so they avoid it at all costs, so when you hear SHINee singing 95% of the time it will be live. It's a running joke between the fans and the members that when SHINee lip syncs you can tell because it's very obvious. Yes, over the years they have become better at lip syncing then they used to be, but now they have gained the reputation as the group that always sings live, so unless they are required to lip sync for a specific reason, SHINee will always sing live. They have trained their entire career to be able to sing live and always sound flawless while performing extremely complex choreography. SHINee set the standard. That is why they are so highly respected among their peers. It is literally referred to as the SHINee standard. It's the standard all other groups strive to reach. You really should check out some of their live concert performances because their stages are like none other. Their concerts last 3 to 4 hours straight and they perform nonstop and never sound out of tune or out of breath. They are also one of the best dancers in Kpop and they have some of the best harmonies you will ever hear. If you know EXO, then you know how good of vocalists they are, well, the members of SHINee actually were mentors to a lot of the EXO members and they helped coach them in their singing. The members of EXO and the members of SHINee are all around the same age and they were all part of the same trainee classes together, and, yet, SHINee debuted 4 years before EXO, so that just goes to show you a little bit of what makes SHINee so amazing and why they are considered legends. SHINee is pronounced like Shiny -- as in shiny stars or Shiny diamonds -- because they are so magnificent that they need a double ee to show just how brilliant they shine. They SHINe(e) like the sparkling performers that they are. That is also why their symbol is a diamond.

SHINee's "Replay" isn't just nostalgic, it's legendary. And SHINee are legends. The Noona (the older girl SHINee have a crush on that they are singing to) in the "Replay" MV is the leader of their sister group***, Victoria from F(x). This MV came out more than a year before F(X) debuted so this was Victoria even before debut. (Funny thing is, Victoria is native Chinese and she says she was still learning Korean during this time and she could barely even say SHINee.) Victoria was so perfect in this role because she is a few years older than any of the SHINee members so she fit well as the lead actress in this MV. As the song says, 'Noona neomu yeppeo .... replay, replay, replay ...." In other words they are saying "pretty older woman I really like you and I think you like me too ... every time I see you I need a replay of the moment over and over again in my head." Noona neomu yeppeo is a Korean term that essentially means "Pretty older woman" Yeppeo is a term that means beautiful that is only used by guys to describe a beautiful woman that is older than them. There really isn't a literal translation of the term so that is why the song is called "Replay" in English. But in Korean it is called "Noona neomu yeppeo." That's why if you watch SHINee on a lot of variety shows and TV programs, the older women in the show often ask SHINee to sing this song to them. ***** SHINee and F(x) are both SM Entertainment groups, they debuted within a year of each other, they both are 5 member groups (Now 4 member groups ;( ) and they have similar music styles and concepts, etc. F(x) is pretty much the female version of SHINee. "Replay" actually came out in 2008 -- more than 12 years ago -- however, SM launched their new RU-vid channel in 2011 and reuploaded all their older videos at that time. So all of their older MVs and content will have a 2011 date but, like "Replay," they actually may be from much earlier. "Replay" is literally considered one of the best debut songs of all time for any Kpop artist because it's so timeless and it never goes out of style or sounds outdated no matter how old it gets. And this is why SHINee are Icons. This song makes all the women swoon. You just witnessed baby SHINee and were already blown away, just imagine what it will be like as you go through their discography and MVs. They have 12 full-length albums (6 Korean albums and 6 Japanese albums), a multitude of mini albums, numerous OSTS, they each have solo songs and albums and there are hundreds of live performances that will absolutely leave you speechless with their talent. And it only gets more and more impressive as you follow them through their career. They have accomplished a lot in the past 12+ years and they are one of the groups that made Kpop what it is today. SHINee are one of the most iconic and influential groups as trendsetters. This song was way ahead of its time when it first came out. SHINee are known for never being afraid to experiment with their style and sound in a song and for the fact that no two songs of theirs will ever be the same even on the same album. SHINee are always setting trends, never following them. As SM's experimental boy group, nothing you hear from SHINee will ever sound the same, and, yet, somehow it will always sound like SHINee. So this shows just how talented even as teenagers SHINee were. If you want to see where SHINee truly shines you have to watch their live concert performances. Fun fact: SM originally wanted to make SHINee a hip-hop group. Hip-hop was the style of music that was really popular when they debuted. That's why Key and Minho are both rappers and how Taemin started out as a popper in dance. But as Key tells it, they just didn't have the swag to pull of hip-hop, so SM switched up their sound and style to something that fit them better and they came up with the signature classic SHINee R&B vocals they are now known for. I, for one, am so glad they debuted with their signature R&B style instead of hip-hop. I can't imagine the world if we never knew the amazing vocals and sound that is SHINee today. Things would be so different. This year will be their 13th anniversary. So SHINee are part of the second generation of Kpop and yet the members are younger than most everyone in their generation and are the same age or even younger than some other groups, such as EXO and BTS, etc., which are part of Kpop's third generation. SHINee debuted young and have the experience of seasoned veterans. It just goes to show you why they are legends in the industry. When SHINee debuted Onew (the leader and lead vocalist) was 18, Jonghyun (the main vocalist and songwriter) had just turned 18, Minho (the main rapper and sub-vocalist) and Key (lead vocalist and sub-rapper) were 16 and Taemin (Main dancer and lead vocalist) was 14, so now they are all in their late 20s and early 30s. (Onew just turned 31 in December.) SHINee are some of the most well respected artists in the industry. Onew (Pronounced Oh-New, real name Lee JinKi) -- the one in the hat -- is the leader of the group and he has one of the most unique and best voices in the industry. (Onew means, or sounds like, the Korean words for soft or gentle, so he was given his stage name because he has a very calm and gentle personality.) His vocals are unmatched. He even holds the record (40+ seconds) for the longest continuous note without changing tone or pitch, etc. Jonghyun -- the one with the bandanna -- is known as one of the best vocalist in Kpop who was one of the most prolific songwriters and composers of his generation. Jonghyun wrote and composed almost 40% of SHINee's songs, plus he wrote all of his own solo songs and numerous songs for other artists, such as EXO's "Playboy" and songs for Taemin, IU and Lee HI, etc., as well as participated in several movie and drama OSTs. He was one of the only SM artists to be given complete artistic control over his work, including several of SHINee's song selections. SM knew that if Jonghyun was involved in any way that the song would be a hit. He was extremely respected within the industry as a songwriter, composer and singer. He was one of the very first Idols to be known for this songwriting and composing skills. As the main vocalist, Jonghyun is the one you hear with all the amazing high notes and R&B runs and ad libs most of the time. Key -- the one in green -- is our diva and fashionista of the group who is SHINee's stylist for a lot of their MVs and stage outfits. SHINee are known for setting trends and never being afraid to experiment with their sound or look, so Key is known for really paying attention to detail when it comes to fashion. He is known for always being unique and wanting to stand out. He is an amazing singer and is a sub-rapper in the group. He is also known as SHINee's dance copy machine. Key has the ability to see and remember choreography the fastest in the group. He only needs to watch the dance once and he has it memorized. He is also SHINee's fluent English speaker, and he is almost as good as a native speaker. Minho -- the one playing basketball -- is the main rapper and visual of the group, but his vocals are also some of the best in the industry. Minho sings just as much as he raps. He also writes most of his own raps in SHINee's songs. Minho is one of the top actors in the industry and he has starred in numerous dramas and movies. Minho is also known as a top athlete. He says these days he goes to the gym a couple of times a day to work out just because he likes to work out, but he is also crazy about soccer, and he plays basketball, baseball and golf, and he is good at track and field events, etc., as well. And not only does he enjoy playing all those sports, but he is usually the best athlete on the field and he pretty much wins every time. There is a reason why Minho's nickname is "Flaming Charisma," and one reason is for his intense passion for sports and his need to always win. And, as you may know, Taemin -- the one in yellow -- is considered one of THE BEST dancers in the industry, and that's not just by fans but by everyone in the industry, including his peers. Taemin's nickname is the Korean Michael Jackson. As you can see by their "Replay" MV, even at 14, Taemin was one of the best dancers in the industry, and you will soon discover with the more that you watch from SHINee and Taemin's solo work, that he has only gotten more magnificent over the years. Taemin is also one of the most popular solo artists in the industry and he is a member of the Kpop supergroup SuperM. Taemin truly is art when it comes to his performances. SHINee are one of the top groups that are known for the fact that they all can do it all. They are a group of 5 amazing vocalists, 5 impressive dancers, 5 visuals, 5 rappers, 5 top actors, and 5 of the most talented and unique voices in all of Kpop. Once you get to know their voices you will always be able to pick them out of a crowd just by the sound of their voice. As a SHINee World -- what SHINee's fans are known as -- or Shawol for short (pronounced like shy-wall), I can tell who is speaking or singing within 1 second even with my eyes closed with them standing in a crowd of screaming fans. Each of their voices are that unique -- there is no one with a voice like any of theirs. That is why they are "The Princes of Kpop".
