They have amazing stamina. Part of SM vocal training includes singing while running or climbing stairs. That's why most of their vocalists are so stable. SHINee in particular are know for this because they have very intricate tiring choreos and vocally demanding songs and they never lip sync (they truly suck at it) they just use some backtracking in certain parts of the songs that are impossible to simultaneously sing and dance to.

I remember watching a few complete concerts and really noticing that Jonghyuns voice got better and better as the concert went on. Noticeably enough that I… noticed? It was crazy. They’re just amazing live - arguably the best live Kpop group

"Sherlock (Clue & Note)" is part of the intro of the concert, but the whole concert is just as intense and amazing as what you just saw. This performance was from their SHINee World Concert IV (SWC4) in Seoul, so it was in 2015. This concert -- and their previous concert SWC3 in Seoul -- is where the majority of SHINee's best live performances are from. You will eventually get requests to watch every one of the stages from this concert, because they are all must see performances and they are so iconic. Those vocals are why SHINee are known as one of the best live performances in Kpop. Jonghyun is one of the best vocalist in the industry, and what you just experienced is why SHINee is one of the most well respected groups in all of Kpop. Even as rookies, Jonghyun and Onew were so well respected for their vocal abilities that they were mentors and vocal coaches for several SM artists, including some of the members of EXO. Key -- the one with the grey hair -- is our fashionista of the group and he is known for creating the outfits for a lot of SHINee's MVs and live performances. Key designed several outfits for this concert, including the ones you see them wearing in this set. The embellishments and design for these military style uniformes, were created by him. Key has even been given the official title as SM's director of fashion. If you think this performance was insane, just wait until you see the full concert. They perform like this for 3 hours straight and they never take more than a 5 minute break in between sets to change their clothes and get ready for the next set. If you watch this full set you will see that right after this they immediately follow this song up with their song "Shine" and then their Iconic performance of "Stranger" and then "Picasso." They literally go from one song to the next without even skipping a beat. They don't even have a chance to catch their breath, and yet, right after that, when they interact with the audience, they don't even look or sound like the performance has even started. And they do it all while singing live the whole time. :D As you are starting to discover, SHINee live is 3000% better than any of their studio versions of their songs -- which says a lot, because SHINee's albums are perfection, and it's pretty hard to outdo perfection. LOL As you heard, SHINee are known for their live vocals and amazing dancing. They are known as CD-quality singers for a reason. :D SHINee always sings live. The ONLY thing they are not good at is lip syncing so they avoid it at all costs, so when you hear SHINee singing 95% of the time it will be live. They have trained their entire career to be able to sing live and always sound flawless while performing extremely complex choreography like this. SHINee live is like none other, and their stages are some of the best in the industry. Their concerts last 3 to 4 hours straight and they perform nonstop and never sound out of tune or out of breath. They are also one of the best dancers in Kpop and they have some of the best harmonies you will ever hear. SHINee literally set the standard when it comes to live performances. It is actually known as the SHINee standard and it's what all other groups strive to reach. SHINee are Idols' Idols and legends among legends. They are one of the groups that pretty much made Kpop what it is today. The entire concert is amazing and as many others have said already Key designed their costumes for this. Jonghyun's control over his voice is incredible, he's so versatile with it and he has great technique. Key is releasing a new solo song on the 30th in just a few days, I hope you can check it out! In terms of Jonghyun's vocals at this concert, you NEED to see the stages for Stranger and Excuse Me Miss. Maybe not for your next reaction, but those really are necessary. This concert is from around the era of View (2015) even though all these songs are from 2012-3. As good as this is, it was truly nothing compared to those songs. He had such a voice! Such a stage presence too. Long before I was a SHINee fan, I saw a discussion online about if you could see any band for free who would you see--and so many people were saying if you can get tickets to a SHINee show, you should go--even if you aren't a fan of the songs. They put on a show like nobody else. Thank you for this!! Love your reactions always RJ. Can't wait till the next one! If you're doing Dream Girl, I don't think you'd be able to react to them doing it live for the weekend shows, but there's a fun video you might like to see anyway--there's a major prop malfunction they handle so expertly that you genuinely do not notice anything has gone wrong, and there's videos of them talking about it afterward and Taemin didn't even notice anything had gone wrong because everyone else takes care of it so smoothly. I'm being vague because I don't want to give away anything about the dancing, but you'll know what prop I'm talking about when you see it.

Yay! Thanks for your reaction!! SHINee live is a whole other level for sure. Also, the version of Sherlock in the MV is different from the live version that they perform at SWC4 & SWC5. For the concerts, they actually mixed in some different parts of Clue & Note than the ones they used in the MV and you saw they added the scatting too in the live. Their stage presence is so incredible; they're true pro performers. They perform live an extremely high majority of the time. They trained really hard from the start to build their endurance. There's a video somewhere out there of them singing while running in their early debut days. Their concerts are insane, singing while dancing for 2-3 hours with barely any breaks! Looking forward to your next reaction!

SHINee concerts are addictive, my "drug" of choice. JongHyun's singing abilities are legendary. He was, in mY opinion, yes, opinion, the best damn KPOP singer ever, and there are some really fine ones, including Onew. EVERYbody in SHINee is a fine singer, but there's a reason that JJong was the MAIN singer. And he's the reason I became a Kpop stan. I didn't even know he existed till he was already gone by suicide because of depression. I never even got to be a fan when he was alive. I had fallen in love with him as though I were a straight girl in love with a straight man. When I found out he was dead, it was a personal tragedy to me. Sorry. TMI.

Jonghyun is a professional as the rest are. He just has a voice that is more amazing. He was the lead singer 'till his death. As vocalists, you can see that they are performers as well. Jonghyun always looked like he was working extremely hard to do those notes. It is all performance. As a professional, even with all of the theatrics, he never hurt his voice. He could just sing that way whenever he wanted or was asked to do it. I think he really loved it. One of my all time favorite vocalists. Of course, try more SHINee and also check out Jonghyun's solo performances as well as a duet with Onew called "Please Don't Go". It is a ballad with no dancing but the vocals these two do are amazing.

In my opinion, this concert was them at there ultimate best. The complete show is out there with English subs. It is a must see if you are really interested in SHINee! Key began to design most of their outfits as the years went on and this was one of the shows where he designed everything. He is actually one of the fashion directors FOR SM Entertainment now.

Jonghyun was a great composer too, he compose for the group and his solos. The five are full of talent and some get overshadows for the talents of the rest in some areas as dance for Taemin or singing for Jonghyun, the others are great dancers and singers too
