Finally seeing someone that rips roofs like me, make small piles, save all that ground work, and saves so much time and possible damage to home . Your a bad ass!! Roof on my roofing sister!!
I think some states use to not require felt paper underlayment years ago under code. Tar paper just keeps the shingles from sticking to the deck, and if a shingles blow off keeps the deck dry. Felt paper really isn't that important, but it still should be used. She sometimes used 5 nails per shingle and sometimes 6. There was a couple shingles she missed her end nail at the left edge.
When working up a youre ladder try placing youre bundles with laminate side down,( less work when grabbing and setting youre shingle), You wont have to spin and flip the shingle as much when setting it into place
Me and the girl shingling in pink have a lot in common when putting down shingles. I like how she takes her time, makes sure it’s on the line, accurate nail placement (not rushing) I work with people that fire nails and place shingles like the other girl, I’ll be on my mark and then run into their steps which are out 1/4” which is “fuck all” when it’s their ends 🤣
I’m sorry but I wouldn’t hire them 🤦♂️ I’d be too embarrassed that a group of young lady’s are outside in the heat installing my roof while I’m Inside 🤦♂️ 😅
I do commercial roofing. The buildings are really high, but they are usually flat.. it's way easier than residential shingled roofs.. if we had a couple hotties on one of our crews it would turn into a pissing contest every day and nothing would get done.. most of them are married but they would still have hidden motives.. have either of you ever dealt with sexual harassment on a roof..
I still don't understand roofs in the USA. In the UK we don't even do our garden sheds in this stuff. What's the life expectancy on these shingles? Do you re do them every few years. Roofs here are expected to last around 30 years. And speaking of life expectancy. Do you not need scaffolding put up all around the property. I'd be shut down within ten mins doing that job over here by health and safety?
If you use architectural's they should last 30 years if done properly. The company I worked for never tore off a roof this clean, I've seen close but this one looked fine to me honestly.
I'm a 10-year roofer in Colorado I'm a white boy as well I get down I'll do around 20-30 squares in a 8 hr day if I dried in the day before on a 7/8 -12 pitch. about 12 -15 squares a day for tear off and shingle. quality work ice and water drip edge rake metal all new pipe boots we don't cut Corners in Colorado we have a lot of code out here. I'd love to work with a couple chicks like this though they kick ass! It's never about speed until you learn quality it took me at least five years to learn how to do quality roofing and then another five perfecting my speed I normally do a house a day with me and a laborer but I don't like to work 12 or 15 hour days I like to do Eights just a lot better for the body. Keep getting it girls ur badass!. I can't wait to see you do some more architectural shingles
@Joshua James Read WaNNA MaKe LiBs cRy's comment. He said, "I can't wait to see you do SOME MORE ARCHITECTURAL SHINGLES." Which means that this video has architectural shingles. By the way 'YOUR' s/b 'You're', and 'THERE' s/b 'They're'.
I'm a roofer from Edmonton and heard you guys don't pay your employees and like to steal the equipment . Also lol to the guy putting starter on with a stapler ima have to unfollow after seeing this B's
In saskatchewan you get a lot of those, only with 3 tab though, haven't seen much roofs without underlayment with laminated shingles. With 3 tabs they have those slits in them to allow water to run off the shingles better. With laminated shingles you have to butt them up against eachother on the sides, so when water hits that small gap it has more of a chance to seap in and under the shingle, that's why nail placement matters.
