Wind noise doesn't bother me at all. I just really enjoy watching people build stuff. You're a great one to watch for that kind of thing! That porch looks gorgeous and now I have a new idea for my own back porch!
@@HannahMattox YT may have created it automatically if you didn't choose it. They sent out a few notices that they were going to do that but people had the chance to come up with their own. I think they were calling it a URL. But don't quote me on that.🥰 I figured I would come up with my own so it was nearly identical to what I had as the YT ID.
Footings? Aren't you in Canada? Heck, here in NE USA we have to go below the frost line. Aren't carriage bolts better (and up to code) through the railing posts? Just wondering. Good work.
As far as decks of that size go a patio block provides plenty of footing to support the deck, if it was a 2 story deck I would drill piles. And as far as the railing those GRK screws I used would be looked at the same within the code as they are both considered an approved structural fastener. Regular nails or deck screws would not be to code
@@AustinTischler Thanks for the answer. I'll look into whether or not my building official would approve the GRKs. It would save some cash. All these years I've been drilling carriage bolts through. I think you may have taught an old dog a new trick. Great work, as always.
