This scanner could become a waste of money if Shining3D does not fix the bugs that users are asking them to fix. And bring back the ability to work on OpenCL. Otherwise, it's funny - they can't do it for Windows users, but they can for macOS users. Which users are there more of?
I’ve watched loads of videos on the scanner. You video is good.. they should be paying you to do actual in-house tutorial and promotion videos. Great work. 🇦🇺🤜🏼🤛🏼😎🍀☮️☮️☮️
Great 3D scanner for the money, I've had my one for a few weeks and it's been valuable for a number of projects. Did I hear correct that the tripod thread is 7mm? I thought it was 1/4".
Best demonstration video I've seen so far. How long is the cable? Would the device be capable of scanning an object the size of an 'L' shaped lounge, top and bottom?
That washing machine pump can still be modeled. You just bring it in as an STL, drop all your planes and sketch profiles, then hide the geom and start lofting and adding holes and stuff. At least in CREO, I dont know about CATIA or SolidWorks.
So the accuracy of the part was a couple of 10ths at 72mm dimension? So it’s about as accurate as 3mm per meter? Honestly thought it would have been better than that. 😢
Has anyone found battery for this? I believe its taking 12V DC with 5.5mm jack but I am wondering how closely the voltage has to match 12V as regular batteries tend to lose voltage when drained and it could lead to loss of precision in this kind of application?
