Chucked on Blackjazz for a spin for the first time in years yesterday. Thought I'd come check out what the band's been up to lately - wasn't expecting an Avicii cover. It's a bit goofy but fun and it's just good to see people just having fun making music.
Thanks a lot, my friend! You get it! I've decided that I'm gonna make music solely because I enjoy it, without any thought on being smart or strategic. I know that most bands try to focus their output so consumers can more easily digest it, and people can more easily predict what new music will sound like. But I don't think that's fun, so I'm taking the risk of alienating fans so that I can have fun making the music. These three covers were songs I made for our Patreon club. They get a song every Christmas. I thought these three were kinda cool, so I decided to just get them out. It's not a new direction, and nothing serious. Just some fun songs that I like. I'm glad you enjoyed them, James!
I don't get it, seems like Shining desperately tries to become some kind of "rock stadium band" since a few years ago but isn't working. What happened with the Blackjazz / One One One style? It was perfect.
I honestly dig the new style, it's one of those bands (or rather mostly Jorgen from what I understand) that tries out a bunch of things. As long as the sax is here, I love it.
@amauryfrancais5001 Glad you dig it! And yeah, I try whatever I fancy, and throughout the years that has been a lot of different stuff. I like it, and that's why I keep doing it.
@@ShiningNorway of course you can do whatever you want, and it doesn't had to like me, it's just that you could be so big as like Leprous, Haken, Dillinger Escape Plan or Between the Buried and Me, etc. But you decided to change to something more "pop" like in "Animal" (that sound like Nickelback or some like that, and actually I like it) and it's just a little bit sad that maybe we never could hear again something like Blackjazz / One One One that were such unique Banger album's, instead of that we're having metal covers of pop songs (and there million's of these). I mean what's next? Unholy of Sam Smith or something of Taylor Swift?
@@yeihernandez5012 Music is not about being "big." It's about expressing what you want to express. People change and mature over the years, and thus so does their music. Luckily Blackjazz and One One One still exist, and are available to listen to at all times.
