Pokémon’s fans are in a variety of ages and having a younger target demographic doesn’t give them excuses. Children are much smarter than content creators give them credit for, and while stories help unite both the older and the newer fanbase, children can get invested into stories as well.

mk gaming coming from someone who technically still a child I usually play games for the story AND gameplay- like Tremodie said most kids are smarter then they are given credit for by most kid content makers. I honestly don’t like most of the anime compared to the games when it comes to storyline because the games usually are darker.

I haven’t watched the Alola anime, but what you said about Anime Lusamine being different is why I kinda hate Ultra Sun and Moon. I prefer the original Lusamine from the first Sun and Moon games. Ultra Sun and Moon makes her this well-meaning character with only some controlling tendencies instead of the abusive figure she was in the original and kinda seemed like they sweep her original behavior under the rug with that game.

Yeah the main problem I had with Pokémon ultra sun/moon is that she just becomes a magically good because lily and her “had a talk” OFFSCREEN and for the rest of the game she becomes the least interesting character in the game aside from maybe the rival but with modern Pokémon games most the rivals are the exact same grinning all the time happy go lucky character but with different appearances

I played ultra sun and watched the anime before finding out how she was and I prefer evil lusamine

Bruh. I really hate how hard they still tried to paint Lusamine as a bad guy in the anime too. The only problem she has was that she was overbearing. She was a good mom and I can see why she would've wanted to have her eyes on Lillie and give her as much affection possible. Her husband got sucked into a wormhole and her son ran away with absolutely no explanation. Of course shed be afraid of losing Lillie! She was also completely oblivious to what was going on with faba, and when nihilego came around, she literally sacrificed herself to save her children. Don't get me wrong though, I still love and prefer lusamine from the games. I just hate how they try to portray the very loving mother version as a bad person when she's not... They weren't his canonically in the games. He actually stole the Nulls because he felt they were being treated wrongly. However, he only got away with one. The reason you get one of the others is because Lusamine changes from good to evil. I think technically Hau gets the other one but never uses it.

No, the anime is a million times better. It gives all the characters so much more depth and nuance and character and deeper character relationships and just fleshes them all out so much more. Lusamine from the games is 1-dimensional in comparison. Seems it was too subtle for most people though since it relies more on visual storytelling though (as it should).

Yea it really seemed like the wrote the anime to follow the game plot (with some edits to bring in the voice actor more as you do) but then had to change it. Lusamine doesn't read creepy in the show but she doesn't feel safe either, and when the show chickened out I was so upset.

Lillie dont touching pokemon was something i liked in the anime but it could have shown on why a lot better
