Shiny Safari Tauros CAUGHT in LeafGreen after 685 encounters! (251,167 total)

After 29 phases, 251,167 random encounters & a total of two Tauros found, I snagged the elusive Green Bull. This is a monumentally big leap forward in my quest for a Gen 3 Shiny Living Dex. 2 out of the 3 Safari Rares have been captured & I still can't believe while editing this video.

I don't know if you know this, but this catch is FOYT. NOBODY has to date captured a Shiny Tauros from the FRLG Safari Zone and you were the first one to do it. Congratulations man, you deserve it.

Actually during 2022 Safari Week, I caught the 1% Shiny Tauros if you look up HayzelNoot :)) Very happy to see someone else has caught this elusive bull as well!

I think there's someone who caught a shiny Tauros awhile back, but this is so impressive I personally struggled with catching the regular Tauros. In fact, I caught multiple Chanseys before a single Tauros

Was recording when I caught my shiny Chansey but don’t upload anywhere and I got my shiny Tauros in vc call with some friends but didn’t record sadly! But saw multiple shiny Chansey during my hunt and have multiple of the fleas and capture recorded just not Tauros sadly:(

Super happy for such an achievement!! Even if the first little butt didn't stay. I feel for ya. 💔 at least you made an excelent reclaim! I know all to well about the saving thing. Like when o caught my shiny vibrava in the safari zone along with pokerus. I'm taking a break from most all pokemon except for a soft reset for shiny snivy in white for a potential full odds shiny run, my first time trying with no shiny modifiers.

Question about soft resetting. If I’m playing two different games (ruby and sapphire) on two different gbas at the same time soft resetting for the same starter, do I count each time I soft reset both games as 2 or just one soft reset? Not a major deal but I really want to keep count as I have been on and off hunting shiny treecko for over 2 years now and have kept count when I was just doing one game by itself.

It's a really subjective opinion tbh. Some hunters base it on the target, Treecko in this case. If you're hunting Treecko, regardless of your version, you can say it's 2 per reset because it's based on how many Treecko seen before it shines. Some people will see it as each version being its own "universe" if that makes sense. No right or wrong answer imo. It just depends on how you perceive your games.

Might be a weird one, but I remember that the PokeRadar in D/P lets you encounter under-leveled Staravia's (I'm talking like, level 6 Staravias) at Lake Verity. Could be an interesting hunt, but probably a real pain.

I have a question. If you replace the battery in Ruby and Sapphire. Does the Seed get fixed at that moment. Or do you have to reset the save file and start from scratch with the new battery?

@ZetaHaru I never really got an answer to this question. Put new batteries in my Ruby and Sapphire and reset them. After that I soft reseted for kecleon and got a shiny one. But I have no idea if the seed is fixed without resetting the save.

Sorry missed this question. If you replace the battery, the seed is not fixed. It'll be randomised every reset.
