3:51 I saw this very show! One thing I love about live performances is that anything can happen, and even if something goes wrong, (in this case it was Hugh dropping the hat), there was a seamless fix when the girl handed the hat back to him seconds later. Fun show; wish I could have seen closing night!
They were horrifically misogynistic to be fair, saying a woman who kisses on the first date is a “hussie”, or that she’s “hard to get” as if she’s a prize.
@@TheTradge They should have stuck to the original. Nothing wrong with them. There are plenty of lyrics that one or another person may not like, but that is no reason to change them. These lyrics are about a woman who waits to be kissed. Why in the world would anyone find that offensive? And if so, Should we change every lyric of every song that if one person raises their hand and says they don't like it? What kind of world would that be? I hear stuff I don't like all time in songs. Do I protest and call for the words to be changed? No I don't. And no one should. You are really a snowflake here. I feel sorry for you. Life is really going to be tough for you.
i wouldn’t have been mad if they just cut shipoopi. like it’s not necessary by any means. why change the lyrics? anyone doing the music man should treat it like the period piece it realistically is. it is very dated but you don’t do something like the music man and make rewrites to make it seem relevant. if you can’t make an old text relevant in todays day, why are you doing that show? poor direction decisions all around with this whole production.
